Many worries weighed down Evelyn's chest on the drive back to Hamilton Estate.

Evelyn glanced at the half of Gigi's face, which had swelled immensely. She asked a maid to find some ice and a hand towel for Gigi along the way home.

She couldn't help but blame Brad. "At the end of the day, he's not my biological son, so he'll never protect you. I suggest you avoid him from now on.

"Gosh, look at your face. It's so swollen because he slapped you. He must've been trying to disfigure you!"

Half of Gigi's face had turned severely red and inflated. Even her eyesight was impacted. One could imagine how much power Brad had exerted through his slap.

Evelyn's heart ached for her precious daughter. At the same time, her loathing for Brad grew tremendously.

Gigi picked up the cold compress and applied it to her face. It eased the burning sensation she felt earlier. Even so, her skin still stung, and it hurt so badly that she inhaled sharply several times.

She questioned, "What nonsense are you spouting, Mom? Brad's my brother! Even if he's not your biological son, he's still my brother!

"How will the people of Janctera City view us if this got out to the public? Don't you want to enjoy a good life with Dad?"

Gigi was arrogant, but she wasn't stupid. She knew she and her mother would have nothing if they left the Hamilton family.

Wasn't it better to keep their mouths shut and enjoy their current luxurious lives? They would have to be idiots to reveal that Brad wasn't Evelyn's biological son.

With that in mind, she hissed, "Grandpa and Dad already made it clear to you back then. If they say Brad is your biological son, then it's true.

"How would a one-year-old Brad know otherwise at the time? He ended up believing what was told to him, didn't he? Plus, hasn't Brad been good to you? Has he not been respectful enough?"

Gigi knew one thing for sure—she and Evelyn would not only have nothing if they left the Hamiltons, but they would also fall from their high and prominent social statuses. They would become nothing in the eyes of others.

The two would no longer be the revered Mrs. and Ms. Hamilton.

So, Gigi firmly insisted that Evelyn not tell anyone about Brad not being Evelyn's biological child. "It's okay if you say it to me, but you can never let Brad know. After all, will he still respect you if he finds out? Will you still be able to get money from him?"

Evelyn fell silent. She found Gigi's every word convincing, and every point Gigi made hit the nail on the head.

Their car soon pulled over at Clover Villa.

Evelyn helped Gigi get out of the car. She was about to bring Gigi to the latter's bedroom.

That was when the Hamilton family's bodyguards stepped forward to stop the women from advancing. "Madam Evelyn, we've received orders from Mr. Brad that Ms. Hamilton must go to the back room for a time-out. She's to reflect on her actions."

Evelyn was rendered speechless upon hearing that. She raised her handbag and threw it at the bodyguard right away. "Screw you! I'm the one who calls the shots in the Hamilton family!"

The bodyguard didn't cry out in pain or whine about how unfair it was to be hit by Evelyn's bag. Instead, he continued staring at Evelyn. "Madam Evelyn, those are Mr. Brad's orders. I'll have no choice but to phone him if you refuse to comply."

While he said so, another bodyguard stepped behind Gigi and was about to make a move.

Evelyn was so furious that her lungs nearly combusted. Even so, she couldn't do anything to the bodyguard, so she snarled through gritted teeth, "I'm going with you guys!"

She only left after sending Gigi off to the back room.
