After Nadine hit Brad with her bag, her anger subsided a little. Hearing Sebastian's comforting words, she smiled and replied, "You're right. I won't punish myself for someone else's mistakes."

Still, hitting Brad on the head earlier felt satisfying.

Seeing that Nadine hadn't truly lost her temper, Sebastian smiled at her. He then looked at Brad, who was sitting in the car. "Brad, let's just say it was your treat today. The favor is mine to repay and has nothing to do with Nadine. Next time, I'll treat you."

As a man, Sebastian fully understood what was going through Brad's mind. Brad simply wanted to get closer to Nadine but didn't know how to. In the process, he messed things up in a spectacular manner.

It was somewhat laughable. Brad Hamilton, president of Hamilton Group, stumbled over something so trivial. But Sebastian wouldn't point this out to him, of course. After all, Sebastian had his own selfish desires.

Since Nadine was determined to divorce Brad, Sebastian felt it was his duty to support her decision. Only by supporting her could he let his admiration for her turn into genuine affection.

As such, Sebastian took all the responsibility upon himself. He ensured that Nadine wouldn't owe Brad anything, choosing instead to take on the burdensome task of repaying Brad. This way, even if Brad tried to find an excuse to have a meal with Nadine, it wouldn't work.

After taking on the debt himself, Sebastian didn't care what Brad thought and smiled at Nadine. The two of them left together.

Though they didn't hold hands, nor did they walk shoulder-to-shoulder, they walked at the same pace. Seeing them walk side by side irritated Brad to no end.

Brad's head was stinging from the blow that Nadine delivered. And now, his lungs were aching from anger because of Sebastian. The frustration swelled in his chest, with nowhere to release it.

Brad could only watch helplessly as Nadine and Sebastian walked further away. Yet, he didn't have the courage to chase after them.
