Nadine had been to this restaurant before. At the time, Brad was busy with his first love, completely neglecting his legal wife. Frustrated, Nadine had brought Sean and invited Avery to join them there, and they sat at this same table by the window.

Back then, she was seated by the window on the second floor, gazing at the brilliant neon lights outside with a bitter taste in her mouth. For six long years, she had poured her heart and soul into loving Brad, yet he hadn't even asked her to stay when she left.

Her heart had shattered at that moment. Now that she was in the same place with Brad, she felt a whirlwind of emotions. However, she kept her composure, calmly helping Sean to his seat and tying his bib.

The food here was quite spicy, and Nadine was a woman who loved her spice. She paid no mind to Brad's inability to eat spicy food and ordered everything she liked.

Nadine believed that feeling sympathy for a man would lead to misfortune and that caring for him would bring endless sadness. So, she didn't spare Brad a single glance and focused solely on Sean.

Brad was well aware of how much Nadine despised him and how little she wanted to see him. Hence, he felt contended with the way things were. The fact that he was allowed inside to have dinner with her instead of being left out in the freezing cold was beyond what he had hoped for.

Initially, he thought she wouldn't let him join them, and he would have to wait for them in the car. Yet, she was still so kind to him. Did this mean she still had some feelings for him? And that she cared about him, even if only a little?

Brad's mind wandered with hopeful thoughts while Nadine remained indifferent. As soon as the food arrived, she dug in without care for her image. Not once did she look in his direction throughout dinner.
