This hotel belonged to the Hamiltons, though they kept a low profile by appointing an unrelated person as the hotel manager.

Lucas had a good relationship with this exact manager and assumed the hotel was privately owned by him. He never questioned it and rented a long-term suite. Over the years, nothing out of the ordinary happened.

He frequently brought women here, and the manager ensured absolute discretion, earning Lucas' trust in the process. Over time, Lucas let his guard down completely.

He hadn't seen Evelyn since his public fallout with the Hamilton family at the police station. He had dispatched several of his men to gather intel at the Hamilton manor, only to learn that Daniel had placed Evelyn under house arrest. The exact location, however, remained a mystery.

The room was crowded, and none of his bodyguards could be seen. Lucas called out several times, but no one answered. It hit him then that his men must've been subdued by the Hamilton family's bodyguards.

Now that he was completely at Daniel's mercy, he had no choice but to negotiate with him. "Don't you think you're going a little too far here, Mr. Hamilton? We're both men of stature. How am I supposed to hold my head up after this?"
