By the time Xavia was done, it was already nine, and she was just about to leave to get a shower… when she was greeted by a familiar embrace at the door. The man’s arms were firm, and his distinct musk filled her nostrils once more, prompting Xavia to blush as she stared into the handsome man’s deep eyes…

Eventually managing to snap out of it, Xavia was prompted to say, “You’re… back early…”

“Ten hours isn’t exactly early. Regardless, is there anything to eat?” replied Zivon in his enticing voice as he princess-carried her downstairs…

Since she wasn’t used to him being this reasonable with her, the rattled woman was quick to say, “N-no… I hadn’t expected you to return so soon, so I didn’t prepare any extras… I can cook something up for you if you’re hungry, though…”

“Don’t worry about me. I’m fine with just watching you eat,” replied the man as he carried her all the way to the dining room… revealing a steaming plate of aromatic grilled chicken! There was some red lobster as well! These… These were her favorite dishes! Though other women would’ve surely preferred luxurious gifts like diamonds, such thoughtfulness was all Xavia needed to be happy.

Regardless, now wide-eyed, she was prompted to ask, “You… got me some supper?”

Smiling subtly, Zivon—who wasn’t about to tell her that this was Maison’s idea—replied, “Yeah. I passed by a restaurant and thought of you, so I figured I may as well get you some midnight treats.”

Not one to ever refuse food, Xavia—who hadn’t eaten much to begin with—immediately said, “I-I appreciate it…!”

Following that, she wiggled out of his arms and began munching down, completely unaware that her actions implied that food was more important than him! Zivon himself couldn’t help but lower his gaze after that. This was definitely the only woman who’d ever prioritize food over him… Still, she was too cute for him to stay mad…

“After all, I believe that was her only goal for most of her working life… It doesn’t help that she never expected her mother, of all people, to share those feelings of hers with everyone… Unsure how to proceed, that was most probably what led to her suicide attempt…” muttered Xavia.

Her words made sense, and now that he had more insight on the issue, Zivon was quick to reply, “…She isn’t the same as Dolly. She can still be saved.”

“Bingo. You just need to wait for her to wake up again and tell her that you still value her working capabilities. Oh, and make sure to add that you still see her as a friend. That, I feel, should be enough to appease her… If that doesn’t work, however, we’ll need to find some other way to coax her,” said Xavia.

Though Zivon was glad that Xavia was taking all this so well, he couldn’t help but feel irritated by the fact that his own girlfriend was telling him to open up to another woman who loved him…
