It was about three hours later when Yulia and Xavia finally awoke to the sweet fragrance of food… and even before the child’s eyes had opened, her hands were already waving around in the air as she muttered, “Hungry…! Want food…!”

Upon hearing that, Maison ran over to her and held onto her tiny hands before saying, “There are delicious meatballs, lobsters, beef, and all sorts of other meats prepared!”

“R-really?!” exclaimed Yulia as the excited girl immediately sat up to look around… and sure enough, there was a huge table right next to the bed that was brimming with food!

Though all that food certainly caught her eyes, Yulia’s gaze soon fell on Zivon and Maison who were standing by the table. Eyes widened, the overjoyed child couldn’t stop herself from saying, “U-Uncle Burton…?! Brother Maison…?! D-didn’t I get kidnapped…?! A-am I dreaming…?!”

Feeling his heart sink, Zivon walked up to the child before patting her as he replied, “The kidnapping part was just a nightmare… You’re safe now…”

Maison himself was quick to stuff a slice of pumpkin cake into Yulia’s mouth while adding, “Here, have a taste! You won’t be able to experience such tastiness within a dream, so this is proof that you’re awake!”

“It… It’s delicious…!” exclaimed Yulia as tears of joy began rolling down her cheeks.

Shaking her head, Yulia then ran over to Xavia’s side while yelling, “M-Mommy! Mommy, wake up! Uncle Burton and Brother Maison are here! And the bad guys are no more…! We have lots of good food too…!”

In all honesty, Xavia had already awoken for a while, but she hadn’t dared to open her eyes for fear that this was all a dream… Now that Yulia was shaking her, however, she quickly realized that this was reality…! They really had been rescued…!

Immediately sitting up and hugging her daughter tight, Xavia replied, “T-that’s right…! That… That was all just a bad, bad nightmare…! Even so, Mommy will try harder than ever to protect you from now on…!”

“I’ll do the same too…! You know, I’m quitting dancing once I return! I’ll learn Judo instead so that I can beat up whoever dares to bully you in the future, Mommy! They won’t stand a chance against me!”

Smiling when she heard that, Xavia then said, “…Sure! Let’s learn Judo together once we get back…!”

Shaking her head, Xavia then let go of Yulia before starting to eat… and with how quickly she was gobbling everything down, Zivon couldn’t help but think that she was famished. With that, he pushed her a bowl of dessert while saying, “Slow down, nobody’s taking the food away from you…”

To his surprise, she was all teary-eyed when she looked up at him… and after swallowing her food, the overjoyed woman replied, “I… I’m just too happy to finally be by your side again, Zivon…! I… I missed you…!”

…Missed him? What on earth did she mean? Had she just said that out of gratitude for saving her?

As Zivon continued staring at her, Xavia couldn’t help but feel slightly disappointed. After all, she could really use a hug from him right now… Bah, that didn’t matter! She wouldn’t allow herself to lose him again!
