Looking incredibly flustered, the smiling man was quick to say, “Y-Young Master Burton and Little Young Master! Are you finished yet-”

However, before the man could even finish his sentence, his eyes had already widened by the sight of Xavia and Yulia standing there!

“W-what are they doing here…?!” exclaimed the pale-faced secretary.

Xavia herself was surprised to see him there. What was this person who had previously helped them so much doing here? And why did he look so… strange? Before Xavia could even think of a reply, Yulia was already hugging her leg while exclaiming, “Mommy! He’s the bad person! He’s the one who tried selling me off…!”

“…W-what? What are you talking about Yulia? Are you sure?” asked Xavia in disbelief.

Nodding confidently, Yulia replied, “Yeah! I earlier overheard him talking to another bad man to kidnap me! Basically, I was supposed to be kidnapped while I was at the supermarket! Though I wanted to run with Mommy after hearing that, Mommy simply wouldn’t wake up! Because of that, I ended up having to play along with him… but once I was outside, I quickly ran to the underground car park to get some help!”

“Alas, though I did manage to find an uncle who was about to drive off, he simply didn’t understand what I was saying! It didn’t help that he then brought me to the security booth! Though the guard that had attempted to send me back, I was quick enough to run off and hail a cab! My plan then was to meet up with Uncle Burton and Brother Maison again at the snowy mountains… but moments before I managed to meet up with them, I got knocked out!”

“By the time I woke up, I had already been captured by the villains…” concluded Yulia.

She snapped out of it when she heard Yulia yell, “Lies! You’re a bad person who put me and Mommy in danger! Don’t trust him…!”

Though Yulia was already stomping her foot in frustration, at the end of the day, she had little evidence to prove her claim. Taking advantage of that, the secretary was quick to say, “…As they say, kids can’t lie, but I’m sure it’s only because you misunderstood the situation…! I swear I never meant to put you two in any harm…! Besides, if I wanted to harm Miss Lockhart, I could’ve done so while she was unconscious, right…?”

“And if I really wanted to hand you to those kidnappers, then why hadn’t I just done it outright instead of waiting for you to head to the supermarket? Also, I remind you that when I found out that your mother was in danger, I lent her a million dollars without any hesitation! You can’t seriously think I’m still the bad guy, right…?”

With how structural his words were, it was pretty hard not to believe him…
