Since the dining table was removed after Wendy was done eating, the already icy room now seemed much more barren than before, and Xavia found herself at a loss for what to do. After all, it had been ages since the two had been alone in a bedroom together… Hell, the last time they met was when they broke up! What was she even supposed to say now?!

Her train of thought was cut short when a guard entered the room while saying, “We’ve recovered your phone, Miss Lockhart. It appears that you have several missed calls.”

Glad that the awkward silence was now broken, Xavia smiled as she took her phone back while replying, “Thank you…”

However, when she checked her call log, she couldn’t help but frown. Mark had apparently called her a dozen times… Unsure what to expect, she then gave him a call… and when he picked up, she immediately asked, “What is it, Mark?”

Upon hearing that name, Zivon’s iciness instantly spiked…! She had remained silent by his side for so long, yet all it took was her phone to gladly give Mark a call…?! Not wanting anything to do with her anymore, Zivon growled, “…I’ll be heading to the study to do some work. Feel free to sleep in this room or any other room in the villa tonight.”

Following that, he strode off, causing Xavia to look down. Why did he seem so angry…? Could it be that he had given up on her after all that had happened…?

She was brought back to her senses when she heard Mark ask, “Have you met up with him yet?”

“…I have. I’m currently at his mansion, and Maison and Yulia are here too… That aside, what’s with all the missed calls? Did something come up?”

“No, you just haven’t been answering your calls, and your messages felt… off. Like, they didn’t seem to be in your usual writing style… What’s more, I had a nightmare last night regarding you being in trouble, so if you hadn’t called back any sooner, I would’ve gone to M Country to check on you…”

Recalling just how icy Zivon had been as he left the room, Xavia couldn’t help but purse her lips. However, no matter how cold he was, she had gone through a lot just to meet up with him again… With that in mind, she needed to use this chance to clear things up with him and show her appreciation!

With that in mind, she ultimately replied, “…We’re doing great, Brother Mark… You don’t need to worry about me. Speaking of which, I need to talk to him for a bit, so I’ll be ending the call first.”

After ending the call, she quickly headed over to the study room… and soon enough, she saw that the door leading into the room wasn’t closed, revealing the reserved man inside who was seated on his office chair, looking as unapproachable as ever… In all honesty, he looked like a renaissance painting from this angle…

Shaking the thought off, Xavia took a deep breath… before knocking on the door while saying, “…Could I have a word, Young Master Burton?”
