Shaking their heads, they quickly snapped out of it and got their guns out… and following a loud bang, the smell of gunpowder filled the air. This, of course, stunned everyone, and upon realizing that the two men were armed, the villagers instinctively raised their arms. Seeing their chance, the other guards quickly tied the people up… and shortly after, the police and several nurses arrived.

Upon seeing the police officers, the villagers exclaimed, “A-are you seriously handing us to the officers, Young Master Burton?! We’re your mother’s friends!”

“Y-yeah! Where’s Wendy?! We demand to see her!”

Ignoring their pleas, the head officer walked up to Zivon and asked, “Young Master Burton, about these people…”

“No mercy. Punish them according to the law,” growled Zivon, prompting the officer to nod before gesturing for his men to move the villagers into their cars.

While all this was happening, Mr. and Mrs. Lockhart were taken away by the medical staff, and it was ten minutes later when order finally returned.

Feeling guilty about all this, Xavia ended up muttering, “…Sorry… Had I not disrupted the peace between Aunt and her friends, none of this would’ve happened…”

“And how exactly are you to blame for all this? That aside, are you hurt?” replied Zivon in a concerned tone.

Just as he was about to yank her over, however, Zivon stepped between them while growling, “They were asking for it. Also, if Xavia was as heartless as you claimed then why did she bother coming over?”

Sneering in response, Kevin retorted, “You think she’s so kind, huh? Bullshit! Had it not been for Jenna’s help, I would’ve surely died ages ago due to Xavia’s inaction!”

This prompted Jenna’s heart to skip a beat. If Xavia learned that she had lied to Kevin and exposed her, then she’d surely be ruined! With that in mind, she quickly said, “I-I believe that all this has nothing to do with Xavia, so calm down… Mom and Dad are still being treated, you know…?”

Fuming even harder, Kevin growled, “You’re defending that heartless woman? She’s the one who caused your divorce in the first place! You’re kind to a fault, Jenna! Why do you keep sacrificing your happiness…?! Regardless, get out of here, Xavia! The Lockharts don’t welcome you!”
