Squinting slightly when he heard that, he then told the kids to continue playing before heading over to the study to check on the news… and true enough, Xavia had done all that. She had given birth in a field…? And she had been locked up for nine whole months? After reading through her suffering, Zivon couldn’t help but flinch. To think that that woman had gone through so much on her own…

Eventually, Zivon growled, “…For fuck’s sake…!”

Worried about that reaction, Nathan muttered, “U-um… Miss Lockhart is honestly the victim here, and I believe she has no reason to lie… With that said, perhaps you should forgive her…?”

“Who the hell said that I was mad at her?” grumbled Zivon who was angry at himself for being so clueless this entire time. Compared to Jenna, Xavia had the personality of an angel, and he should’ve been able to tell them apart the morning after they slept together!

He remembered how he had even gotten himself drunk several times back then to try to replicate that feeling, but no matter what he did, he simply couldn’t find himself getting attracted to Jenna. That should’ve been enough to tell him that Jenna wasn’t the one he had slept with! If only he had been a bit sharper, then Xavia wouldn’t have had to suffer so much…!
