Though none of the commenters directly said it, it was clear that they all thought that Xavia was reluctant to move on, even after everything that Alma had done. It didn’t help that they now knew about Xavia’s initial affair, and her reputation had sunk lower than ever… Even so, Xavia didn’t care about that right now.

What surprised her, however, was how Mr. and Mrs. Lockhart reacted to her the second she arrived at the hospital!

“Why the hell are you here, you misfortune bringer!”

“Your father and I put ourselves down for you! But what did you do?! You ignored us and eventually got us hospitalized! But that wasn’t enough, huh?! You had to pull Jen into this?!”

“Just because we didn’t raise you up, that doesn’t mean we should be treated this way!”

“Are you only going to be satisfied once we’re dead?! You ungrateful brat!”

“Get out! We won’t ever ask for your help from now on, no matter how rich and famous you become! Never return!” growled Mrs. Lockhart as she pushed her out of the room.

Unfortunately, there were several nurses around when this happened, and they immediately began saying things like, “She has such a bad relationship with her family…”

“It’s kind of understandable given how they dumped her as a child… It’s only natural for her to want revenge.”

Since her voice echoed throughout the corridor, the nurses instantly looked away awkwardly. Several patients and family members were present at the time as well, and they all shared that same awkwardness. Xavia herself paid them no attention and simply headed downstairs.

She was only here to check on Jenna’s condition, as well as to ask her about Alma. With that in mind, being slandered for things she never did, made her understandably pissed. It didn’t help that Mr. and Mrs. Lockhart were now treating her like before again. While it was true that she knew that they were only doing so because of Zivon, deep inside, she had hoped that they had been sincere with their change in attitude back then…

In the end, it was made clear that they had only fawned over her for the benefits! That bitter realization was made even more distasteful when she realized that it was starting to drizzle outside… Following a sigh, she sat on a bench to wait for the rain to stop… but it was seconds later when she saw Kevin walking up to her, a lunchbox in hand.
