“…So… You bumped into Young Master Burton at his room, correct? Is what she said true, Young Master Burton?” asked the police. If Xavia’s words were to be believed, then that meant that she was also partly to blame for that incident.

Regardless, after hearing that, Zivon took a moment to reply, “…It is. I was drugged at the time, and I ended up dragging Xav into the room, mistaking her for Jenna. As the people have said, Xav could’ve easily sued me for rape if I wasn’t drugged. While we’re on the topic, I should add that it was because of that event that I felt the need to take responsibility for Jenna. I never truly loved that woman, you see.”

This left everyone listening in to be left speechless. Did they have to be this honest…? Couldn’t they have made something else up…? After clearing his throat, the officer then awkwardly asked, “…So… About the drug…”

“I didn’t buy it, and unfortunately, I don’t know who drugged me in the first place. I should mention that the drug seems rather easily obtainable.”

Upon hearing that, Nathan added, “Young Master Burton is drugged at least twice a month, which is why he knows that.”

Since everyone was left speechless, Zivon took the chance to say, “With that said, I’d like for the drug to be identified and kept a close eye on. We don’t want similar cases to happen again.”

…Why did that feel like a command more than anything? Wiping the sweat off his forehead, the officer then muttered, “…We’ll do what we can. Regardless, the second time you two slept together… Were you two under the influence of drugs again?”

“Sounds good,” replied the officers who were ready to pack up and end the interview.

To their surprise, the seated Zivon suddenly added, “You know, had that victim of that night been some other woman, I’d still have cooperated if she wanted to file a lawsuit against me. That aside, I ended up taking responsibility for Jenna for three whole years, despite the fact that she never deserved any of it. With that said, I wish to solemnly apologize to Xav.”

As if that wasn’t surprising enough, Zivon then stared straight into her eyes before adding, “I apologize for all that suffering I put you through… and if needed, I’ll spend my entire life making up for it.”
