Zivon himself knew that she had just gotten past a great ordeal, and that he shouldn’t be nit-picky right now. Even so, there were just some things that were difficult to ignore. Gently pushing her aside, Zivon muttered, “…The water’s warm now. Go take a shower and get some well-deserved rest. In the meantime, I’ll be taking the kids out to get some ingredients for dinner.”

“Aww… Aren’t you going to hug me to sleep…?” replied Xavia who truly didn’t want him to leave.

Upon hearing that, Zivon couldn’t help but squint his eyes as he replied, “…Are you sure you need that?”

He, for one, didn’t think she even needed him by her side. Xavia herself was too happy to be by his side again to notice his change in tone. Because of that, she was quick to say, “I am! Though… you may not have been able to take proper care of Maison and Yulia in the past few days because of me… Hmm… Fine. But if you’re going to the supermarket, make sure to get them plenty of snacks and toys, alright?”

“Will do.”

Once he was gone, Xavia immersed herself in the bathtub, allowing the warmth to seep into her tired body. Though he wasn’t here, his scent lingered, and it brought a comfort that she definitely needed right now. Worried that she’d accidentally fall asleep in there, she only soaked for about ten minutes before changing into some comfortable clothes and heading straight to bed…

She slept peacefully from day till night… and she finally stirred when her nose picked up a pleasant scent. Opening her eyes, she was greeted by the sight of the kids and several dishes that had been placed on the coffee table.

“You’re finally awake, Mommy!”

“…Huh? He’s not here?” replied Xavia as her gaze fell a little. After all, shouldn’t he be by her side more after all that had happened to her…? Then again, he was probably plagued with work after all that had happened in the past few days…

Once she had reassured herself that that was the case, she had dinner with the kids before watching a movie with them. After that, she even read them a few bedtime stories to make up for the past six nights.
