Glass after glass, Xavia simply continued drinking to ease the pain… and it was hours later when Mark received a call from her.

Upon picking up, the first thing he heard was her mumbling, “I’m sorry…! I really am…! I… I can’t remember anything from that night… and I don’t know what to do anymore… All I can think of is you and the children…”

It was clear that the drunk woman had wanted to call Zivon instead of him, and after a slight pause, he was prompted to reply, “…Where are you, Xavia? You’re only putting yourself in danger by getting drunk outside… Even if you don’t care about yourself, at least consider the children… Tell me where you are so that I can come get you.”

“Lake side…” muttered the addled woman before going completely silent… Frowning in response, he quickly googled for the closest lakes… and thus began his hunt for the drunk woman.

It was only after an entire hour of searching that he finally found her at his third lake. She was sitting by the lakeside, and with how pale she looked, he quickly rushed over to her side. To his shock, her body was icy cold, and he couldn’t help but wonder whether she would’ve frozen to death if she had been allowed to stay out here for the night!

Shaking his head, he quickly wrapped his coat around her before carrying the freezing woman back to his car. Making sure that his air conditioner was off, he then began driving her back to his villa…

Upon arriving, he immediately yelled, “Matthew! Matthew, get up now! Xavia needs treatment!”

Jolting awake from his sleep, the half-awake man struggled to sit up as he replied, “Who needs treatment…? If it’s nothing major just do it yourself…”

“Wake up, damn it!” growled Mark, prompting the helpless Matthew to groggily climb out of bed.

It was about ten minutes later when the tired doctor muttered, “The drunk woman’s just suffering from frostbite! Just get her some hot water bottles and turn off the air conditioner! She’ll be fine in the morning! Could you please stop looking for me over such minor issues…?”

“…Look, she was probably out there because Zivon got infuriated over the pregnancy. It’s clear that he doesn’t trust her, and it doesn’t help that he allowed her to drink all alone outside! She could’ve died if you hadn’t saved her! Are you absolutely sure that you’re willing to hand her to that bastard-”

“Matthew, I know what I’m doing,” interrupted Mark, causing Matthew to groan.

“…Bah, fine! Do whatever you want!”

With Matthew gone, Mark clenched his fists for a bit before rubbing his temple with a sigh. He already knew that it was going to be a sleepless night for him…
