“Mommy hasn’t returned since last night, and she has never done something like this before! What’s more, you’re drinking wine, so you two definitely quarreled!” added Maison.

Holding Zivon’s hand, Yulia stared at Zivon with widened eyes as she said, “Please don’t be mad at Mommy! Mommy’s already been bullied enough while raising me, and you’re the only hope for me and Mommy to remain safe! Also, there’s a thunderstorm now, and Mommy’s terrified of those! Could you please bring her home…?”

With how close she looked to crying, Zivon felt his heart soften as he picked her up. Before he was able to start coaxing her, however, a knock was heard from the door.

Following that, the sound of the fingerprint scanner went off, and in stepped one of his personal bodyguards. After a curt bow, the guard said, “Miss Lockhart has been found passed out right outside the villa, Young Master Burton.”

“…What?” replied Zivon with a heavy frown.

“She’s been standing out there since ten in the morning, and I didn’t invite her in earlier since she looked so hesitant… Either way, I attended to my other duties, and I just found out that she had blacked out moments before reporting this…”

…She had been out there since this morning? The hell was she thinking?!

Striding out of the villa, Zivon soon saw the pale woman who was lying on the ground, completely drenched… She looked like a corpse! Instantly lifting her in his arms, he then yelled, “Xav? Xav! You there! Get me Dr. Xenos!”

“R-right away, Young Master Burton!” exclaimed the guard as he did as he was told.

Zivon himself was quick to carry her back into the villa, and when the children saw the pitiful state of their mother, they immediately began wailing, “M-Mommy?! What’s wrong with her?!”

Pleased by how obedient the kids were, Zivon nodded just as Zayne came running by. Seeing the doctor, Zivon explained, “Have a look at her. She passed out after staying out in the rain for too long.”

“Got it,” replied Zayne who had already heard the details from the guard.

After a few minutes of checking on her, he eventually concluded, “Since she has anemia, it’s only natural for her to pass out after getting drenched for so long. However, it doesn’t look too serious, so after I administer her an infusion and prescribe her some medicine, she should be all fine and dandy tomorrow.”

This, of course, prompted Zivon and the kids to sigh with relief…
