Holding her hand and leading her in, Zivon then said, “No point in being soft-hearted now. I’d rather deal with this now so that you won’t get mad again in the future.”

Before Xavia could even reply, they came across Wendy and Whitney in the back garden planting some onions.

“We’re home, Mom,” said Zivon, prompting both of them to look at him before getting up.

Walking up to him, Whitney was first to say, “Zivon! I came looking for you, but Mr. Miller told me that you were in search of Ms. Lockhart who had run off because of an argument… Since you weren’t around and I saw Aunt all alone, I decided to accompany her for the night. I had something I wanted to give you anyway.”

It was clear from her choice of words that she was trying to get Wendy to hate Xavia, and sure enough, Wendy looked slightly upset. After all, Zivon had just left the hospital recently, and now that she had made him chase after her all the way to Kelna City… Something had to be said.

“…Please stop running around and wasting money and energy, Xavia. It’s better if you just talk it out with Zivon.”

Feeling slightly awkward, Xavia was just about to apologize when Zivon replied, “What argument? She had simply brought the kids out to have some fast food, and after we met up, we talked about the wedding photoshoot for a bit. In the end, we both agreed that Kelna was the perfect place to get our photos taken, which is why we immediately set off for that city.”

“I had wanted to inform you of this earlier, but since we were already enjoying ourselves, I refrained. However, I remembered that the kids had classes today, which is why I ultimately chose to return early. With that said, this is all just a misunderstanding! Please be more mindful of your words, Nathan!”

Naturally, Nathan knew that that was absolute bullshit! However, with how stern Zivon’s gaze was, he had no choice but to mutter, “…I’m sorry for jumping to conclusions, Young Master Burton…! It’s just… No, I’m truly sorry!”

Watching as Nathan slapped himself, Xavia couldn’t help but feel extra guilty. Thank God Zivon made Nathan stop himself shortly after, otherwise she wouldn’t have had the face to meet him after this!

Regardless, after Zivon took the card from her hands, he was prompted to reply, “Indeed. Since you’ve come to the same conclusion, you should have no issue with moving out of the apartment I bought for you, right? Feel free to buy the unit for yourself, though.”

Upon hearing that, she was left utterly stunned! She had merely said that to make Xavia feel bad! She, for one, had expected him to not take the card back. After all, he was a man who never retracted what he had given out! So why was this happening? Hell, he wanted her to return the apartment as well?! What the hell had happened?!

Since she wasn’t saying anything, Zivon added, “You see, after some serious thought, I realized that I should only spend that much money on my wife. Besides, giving you all that will surely affect your reputation in the long run. And finally, it’s not like you’re in dire need of money anyway.”

After hearing all that, Whitney found it incredibly difficult to stop herself from trembling in rage! To think that he had said all that to her! Even worse was the fact that she couldn’t retort to his reasoning!
