Naturally, Xavia remained silent. After all, there definitely was a chance that things could’ve gone differently…

Since she wasn’t saying anything, Mark took the chance to say, “This all happened because I didn’t try hard enough back then… With that said, I’m doing my best to pursue you throughout this month, whether you like it or not.”

“W-wait! I disagree!”

To her dismay, Mark simply replied, “Doesn’t matter. Now let me take your measurements so that I can begin making your new outfit…”

This, of course, left Xavia with a headache. To think that Ian would use Mark like a pawn in such a situation! He was seriously pushing it!

With that in mind, she waited till Mark was done before immediately barging into Ian’s room and yelling, “Don’t you think you’re overdoing it, Ian?!”

At the time, Ian had been discussing something with James and Jacob, so when Xavia suddenly yelled like that, the confused Ian couldn’t help but ask, “…What’s wrong, Xavia?”

Since she hadn’t anticipated that there’d be others in the room, she averted her gaze from the twins before awkwardly muttering, “…L-let’s talk about this in private…”

Feeling helpless, all Ian could do was tell the twins to leave first… and once they were gone, he was prompted to ask, “…Is this about Mark?”

Nodding in response, Xavia replied, “It is. Mark is a respectable friend, and I refuse to let him be your pawn! You’re clearly aware that I’ll have to hurt him in the end!”

“I see. Quite a pity since I like Mark quite a bit. After all, he still loves you dearly after all this time, so I know that he’s a genuine person. Regardless, if he fails, he gets closure, and if he succeeds, you two can be together again. I really see no issue with my decision.”

Frustrated by his point of view, Xavia retorted, “…Whatever…! Listen, Ian…! If you keep doing things like this, you’re going to lose me for good!”

With that said, she turned to leave…

Throughout their conversation, the twins had been waiting by the door… and though they probably heard most of what she had said, they retained their emotionless facades… It kind of made sense since she wasn’t their actual sister, and besides, it was a miracle that they hadn’t attempted to kill her already since she was essentially taking over their positions! Shaking her head, Xavia chose to ignore them and headed back to her room instead…

Once silence returned, the two re-entered Ian’s room before asking, “…Do you really hate Young Master Burton that much…? To the point where you want the two to separate?”
