Since he wasn’t replying, she couldn’t help but look at his bandaged hands… and to her shock, they were already starting to turn red again! Going slightly pale, she was quick to ask, “Oh God… Does it hurt? Here, let me have a look-”
However, before she could complete her sentence, Zivon simply retracted his hand. It was also around then when the cab came to a stop, and after paying the fee, he got out. To Xavia’s surprise, they hadn’t stopped at his villa or apartment… Instead, they were at Whitney’s old home!
“W-why did you choose to come here…?”
He could tell that she was overthinking, so he simply replied, “I bought this house, so it’s mine and mine alone. As for why I’m staying here, have you forgotten your brother’s rule?”
…Ah. He couldn’t use his status or money during the testing period… Which meant that he was now just an ordinary man. No wonder he had ridden a cab earlier! Still, even though he was now poor, he still made sure to order delicious food for the kids just now… That was a sign that he was a good father.
While she was still saddened that he hadn’t ordered anything for her, the fact that he had still chosen to return here after fighting with her… There was no way she could ever be mad at him! After shaking her head, she quickly entered the yard and said, “…I’m sure you haven’t had your lunch, so I’ll cook something for you.”
Watching as she began picking some peas, Zivon simply averted his gaze and entered the house. Once inside, he immediately began drawing architectural blueprints atop an old table. While it was true that he had plenty of majors, he knew that this was the fastest and cheapest way for him to earn a quick buck.
He had been selling these blueprints to small developing cities ever since he returned, and he had just finished one of the blueprints when his phone began to ring. Upon seeing who the caller was, he picked up and was greeted by a voice that said, “Hello? Are you done with the blueprints, Mr. Yalden?”
Glancing at her, Zivon replied, “Even ordinary things can be sold for thousands as long as the right brand is slapped on them. If the value of an item isn’t recognized, however, regardless of its quality, nobody will even bat an eyelid. You could argue that the same applies to people. Even though some individuals suffer for others, all they do may as well be for naught in the end.”
It was clear that he was saying that despite all his efforts, she was still having an ambiguous relationship with Mark.
Clenching her fists, Xavia then said, “…No matter how oblivious people are, I believe that someone among the crowd will always know what true quality looks like. They’ll be sure to put it in the spotlight where it belongs. With that said, while it’s true that things may seem bad after suffering a lot for another, perhaps it only seems that way because of a misunderstanding!”
…Misunderstanding or not, the fact remained that she had gotten drunk, and that she had been in a room with only Mark by her side. It didn’t matter how she got there, the fact that it had happened was enough to piss him off! With that in mind, he simply rolled his blueprint up before walking off, not even bothering to touch the food she had made…
