He only treated me to lunch and brought me shoe shopping because I injured my legs while saving his life! Don’t worry, he only has you in his heart, and he even made sure to tell me that he’d never fall for me right off the bat. With that said, please don’t think badly of him…”

While explaining the situation, Fiona had clearly tried to paint her as a petty woman, and this prompted Xavia to feel slightly awkward. It took her a while, but she eventually looked at Zivon while asking, “…When exactly did she save your life?”

“Well, remember how I said someone saved me at the last minute back when I was in Stroze? It was Fiona, and without her, I’d probably be dead.”

…So this was simply his way of repaying the favor? Forcing a smile, Xavia replied, “…I see. Well, since she saved your life, be sure to cater to all her requests, alright?”

Her words were brimming with sarcasm, and before the hurt man could reply, the employee returned with Fiona’s shoes. This prompted Zivon to say, “Go try the shoes on. I’ll be back in a minute.”

Following that, he dragged Xavia to a quiet balcony before saying, “Are you jealous?”

“…Aren’t you overthinking things? Look, I only helped her because the employee had run off to find suitable sizes for another pair of shoes. What’s more, I only stepped in when she hurt herself while trying to get the new pair. Are you seriously refusing to kiss me just because of that tiny action?”

Upon hearing all that, Xavia couldn’t help but feel awkward. After all, now that she had heard his explanation, she realized that she had been angry at him for nothing… Since she was speechless, Zivon lifted her chin before asking, “And what about you, hmm? Why did you have to bring Mark along just to get shoes for your mother?”

Quickly going pale, Xavia replied, “D-don’t you remember that I promised to follow my brother’s arrangements last night…? Mark’s essentially here because of Ian…”

“I see… So would you sleep with Mark if your brother arranged that?” asked Zivon with a smirk.
