Upon hearing that, everyone immediately turned to look at the pile of boxes that had arrived… and though the items inside were properly concealed, the store’s logo was clear for all to see… A logo that all of them recognized!

Knowing full well that she had only bought undergarments, Xavia immediately wished that she could just vanish from the face of the earth! How embarrassing! It didn’t help that she was reminded of what Zivon had said! That he wanted her to wear a different pair on each day that passed from their wedding date…!

Unable to handle the awkwardness, Xavia muttered, “I-I’ll be heading to my room first-”

“W-wait, Xavia… Um… We were hoping to visit the Lockharts later to discuss your brothers… Why don’t you come with us?” interrupted Yasmin after clearing her throat.

Recalling how James and Jacob had reacted around her, Xavia couldn’t help but say, “I… don’t think that’s wise… They don’t seem to like me…”

“Nonsense! They’re just not as good at showing their affection, at least when compared to Ian. That aside, though they’re not as outstanding as he is, I still raised those two great boys… That aside, I know they only agreed to return to that family so that we wouldn’t be placed in a difficult position… After plenty of discussion, we decided that we wanted them back, but whether the Lockharts will allow it is another thing…” replied Yasmin with a sigh.

“…Well… the Lockharts have always prioritized their interests, so I don’t think they’ll return them easily… For example, they only showed their love to Jenna when she was useful to them, but as you saw, she didn’t even receive a proper burial once she no longer benefited them… Since James and Jacob already have both status and power, I’m sure they’ll be even less willing to part with them.”

“With that said… I think the best way to make them let go is by first taking the twins’ positions away. By proving that they’re bad with finances, the Lockharts will assume that they’re useless, and will eventually end up abandoning the boys…” concluded Xavia.

It took them a while, but Homer eventually replied, “…Quite generous of you to have suggested that, Mr. Frankston, but we believe that children should always remain with their biological families. The boys have already stayed with us for so long, so it only makes sense that they get to stay with you now. That aside, they’ll need to work hard to manage the Lockhart Group now, so we believe that it’s only right to dismiss them from their current positions.”

Upon hearing that, both Lockharts instantly went pale. Their group’s shares and reputation had already plummeted because of the Jenna fiasco, and they had been hoping to use the twins to get back on their feet. That wouldn’t be able to happen if Homer dismissed them from their positions!

The boys themselves were left shocked by their father’s decision. After all, they had thought that they had come over to take them home! Was their loving father seriously abandoning them now? Was blood truly stronger than their previous bonds…?!
