She was there since she had wanted to change Zivon’s bandages again, but when she saw that Xavia was present, she decided to stay and eavesdrop instead. Alas, she had been there long enough to hear everything that Zivon had said about her… As it turned out, he had only allowed her to stay so that she’d realize that he’d never fall for her…! How cruel…!

To think that she had thought that she had successfully moved Zivon enough to like her… Who could blame her? After all, giving him what he wanted while he was quarreling with Xavia was pretty much her best bet at winning his heart… Besides, he had even forbidden her from bringing Xavia up in the past few days… Yet here they were, all lovey-dovey again after a single meeting…

Oh, how laughable her thoughts of grandeur were now that she knew how things looked from his point of view… It was heart-wrenching, to say the least, and in the end, Fiona simply slipped his medicine on his windowsill before wheeling herself off into the chilly streets…

Unlike the icy world outside, however, the inside of Zivon’s home was nice and toasty. In fact, he walked out of the washroom with a basin of warm water and a towel in hand. Before Xavia could ask what those were for, Zivon said, “Use this to wash your hands and face. I’ll use the remaining water to wash your feet.”

Startled to hear that, Xavia replied, “…W-what? N-no! I should be the one doing this…”

“None of that. Look, as long as you’re mine, I’m willing to give anything to you, even my life.”

His words were heavy, to say the least, but they also showed her just how much he adored her. It took her a while, but she eventually smiled and replied, “…I love you, you know that…? Fine, but only if I get to wash your feet once you’re done…”

Chuckling in response, Zivon then started drying her feet as he said, “Well said… Looks like our little fight helped increase your insight…”

Once he was done, he poured the water out in the bathroom… and the second he returned, he hopped in bed and hugged her tightly while adding, “As you said, life is short, so we should spend as much time hugging each other too, don’t you think?”

…This man and his words… Looking up at him, she then hugged him back as she replied, “…I’m fine with that, but… In return, let me have a look at your body…”
