Grabbing the fuming man’s arm, Fiona said, “See? She said it herself that she wants you to be with me! With that said, just stay here with the person who truly loves you! Unlike her, I’ll never dump you-”

“Enough…!” growled Zivon as he pushed her hands away again. He was just about to stride off when he suddenly came back to her and said, “…I’m taking your phone for a while!”

Before Fiona could even react, Zivon had already grabbed her phone and left the ward, leaving her disappointed. Why did he need her phone…? Was he going to try to check the authenticity of the voice recording? To use it against Xavia? Whichever it was, both outcomes would surely paint Xavia in a bad light. After all, she knew that the audio was genuine, so she had nothing to worry about. Hopefully, things would finally start going her way soon…

Either way, just as Fiona had predicted, Zivon was quick to get Nathan to examine the audio… After all, sure, it sounded like Xavia, but would she truly say such horrible things? He still remembered her calling him Hubby a few hours ago… Just what could have caused such a drastic change…?

His train of thought was cut short when he heard Nathan say, “…The results are out, Young Master Burton… So, after running the audio through several audio testers, it’s apparent that the recording wasn’t forged…”

…So Xavia had really said all that?

It was evening when he finally arrived at the palace, and upon looking out of his car’s window, he saw Xavia and the kids playing and laughing together in the courtyard… It was a touching scene, to say the least, but… Even so, Zivon’s expression remained as icy as ever…

Upon leaving the vehicle, the kids were quick to notice and run up to him while exclaiming, “You’re home, Daddy! Come play with us!”

“Then explain this…!” growled Zivon as he began playing the recording… and by the time it ended, Xavia had already gotten as pale as a sheet. It was what she had said to Fiona back at her ward…! Thankfully, the part where she mentioned her illness had been cut out, but… How the hell had he gotten this recording?!

Utterly bewildered, it took her a while to ask, “H-how…?”

“Fiona gave this to me,” scoffed Zivon, leaving Xavia shocked once more. To think that she had recorded her voice back then…! There was no way she could’ve seen this coming…!

As she remained silent, Zivon found himself getting increasingly unnerved. Was she not going to explain herself? Or… Could she not…?
