“What?” asked an icy voice the second her call was answered.

Raising a brow when she heard how noisy the background was, Xavia couldn’t help but reply, “…Um… I was just wondering why you still haven’t come home for dinner… That aside, where are you, Hubby…?”

Though she sounded like the perfect wife who was simply worried about her husband, Zivon simply sneered as he retorted, “You wished for me to be with another woman, right…?! Well I’m out dating one now! Hope you’re happy!”

Upon hearing that, Xavia’s heart instantly skipped a beat. He was with another woman… Clenching her fists, the saddened woman replied, “H-Hubby, I-”

Alas, before she could even complete her sentence, he had already hung up… Rather than fixing things, wasn’t she just making things worse…?! Then again, it wasn’t like she had a right to complain… After all, had she not said all that, none of this would be happening…

Moving back to Zivon, he felt increasingly frustrated after her call. After all, he had seen her saddened face enough times for him to be able to imagine how pitiful she probably looked right now… And in the end, he loosened his tie before taking a big gulp of wine…

Why the hell was she the sad one when she was the one who had done all that? And why the bloody fuck was his heart still aching for such a woman…?!

His train of thought was cut short when he heard Zayne ask, “Alright, what gives? Aren’t newlyweds supposed to be all lovey-dovey? Not sure what she did but just forgive her already, alright…? Men should be more forgiving…”

Narrowing his eyes slightly, Ian then said, “At the end of the day, I’m an outsider, and Xavia is old enough to make her own decisions… One thing I can say for certain, however, is that she still loves you, and she would never betray you. Consider looking further past the surface level of things. That’s all I can say. Now head on home. She’s still waiting for you.”

Before Zivon could even reply, Ian had already turned to leave… Naturally, this left Zivon gloomier than ever. If she loved him, why would she tell Fiona to woo him? Hell, why would she even think about letting him go…?! The more he thought of it, the more vexed he became… and in the end, he simply began driving back to the villa…

A night of terror was imminent…
