Mr. Carlton looked like he was old enough to be Xavia’s father for heaven’s sake! Hell, even Homer looked younger and much better than this sorry excuse of a man! Was she trying to humiliate him or something?!

Raising a slight brow, Xavia replied, “…I beg your pardon? Isn’t this what you wanted from the start? I’ve already set you free, what more do you want? Also, Mr. Carlton is from a well-off family and he’s also teaching at a training institution. Not only does he have a proper job, but he’s also willing to marry a woman with four children. Where else can I find such a good man?”

“Good, you say…?! He’s clearly just after your family’s fortune!”

“That isn’t the case at all, Young Master Burton! I just find her beautiful and capable, which is why I’m willing to marry her,” replied Mr. Carlton, prompting Zivon to sneer.
