Hearing that, Zivon quickly—yet gently—pushed Xavia down again while saying, “Don’t squirm. You just had surgery two days ago, so your body hasn’t fully recovered yet.”

“…S-Surgery…? What surgery?” asked the dumbfounded Xavia… and shortly after, the memories of what happened before she passed out began returning to her!

Now that he was no longer treating her coldly, Xavia felt the urge to cry as she muttered in a trembling voice, “Is… is this real…? Do you care for me again, Young Master Burton…?”

With how indifferently he had been treating her all this time, she hadn’t expected him to be this kind to her anymore…

Understanding where she was coming from, Zivon’s gaze darkened as he replied, “In case you haven’t noticed, I’ve been by your side for the past two days, you know?”

Upon hearing that, Xavia’s heart immediately began to race. Just as she was looking into Zivon’s clear eyes, however… a knock on the door snapped her out of it.

What followed was Zayne’s embarrassed voice stating, “…You know, your wife just woke up, Brother Zivon… She still needs to go through a medical check-up, and she isn’t ready for anything too vigorous yet, so take it easy…”
