“Dad, are you okay?” Olivia inquired and observed how cold Jorge’s demeanor was at the moment. “The doctor said you’ll be fine, but it seems you’re not.” 

“I will be fine. As I said, don’t worry about me,” Jorge reasoned. 

He was just lost in thought. He recalled the past when his career was still growing and believed having Suelen would be better at that time. However, he already had Beatrice and was afraid he would be caught. 

Jorge’s heart would always belong to Suelen, so he was too distant from Beatrice. One of the reasons was that his daughter, Elisa, was very distant from him too. 

In a blink. Jorge stared at Olivia at the side. 

“What’s with that stare. Dad?” Olivia was confused.. 

“Do you already know the truth?” Jorge coldly asked. 

Olivia was stunned. Instead of replying, she said, “You better rest for now, Dad. You need to gain more strength. We’ll talk about it later.” 

She didn’t want to discuss it while Jorge was hospitalized. 

Meanwhile, inside Fischer’s mansion, Elisa had already left her room after showering and made herself presentable. Standing before Robert’s room door, she was now debating whether to see him. 

“Should I?” She asked herself. “Or should I not?” 

She just wanted to know Robert’s decision about their marriage. She knew what it felt like to be forced. 

Her cell phone suddenly rang as she was about to knock on Robert’s room door. 

With that, she ran back into her room and checked whoever called. It turned out to be Jorge. 

She sighed but still decided to accept the call. She wouldn’t listen to whatever he would tell. She just wanted to remind him again that his decision was final and persuading her wouldn’t work anymore. 

“We have nothing to talk about!” She exclaimed and threw her phone on the bed, unanswered. “I know it! -He will beg again!” 

She just waited until her phone stopped ringing. However, when it halted, it started ringing again. 

Well, she remembered the news. Suelen and him must be investigated. She was oblivious to what he still needed. 

Out of curiosity, Elisa answered the call. She asked irritably, “What do you want?! Didn’t you insist Suelen is innocent? What now?” 

“It is me, not Dad.” Olivia’s voice was heard on the other line. 

“Olivia?” Elisa asked. “Okay, so what do you want from me?” 

“I just want to tell you that my father fainted. Can you please visit him? He loves you 

Olivia begged.

Elisa was stunned. Even if she loathed him, he was still her father. But then again, he abandoned her. Why would she care? 

“He loves me? Come on, he cares more about you than me. You are his precious daughter, so what does it have to do with me?” she asked, somewhat satisfied. 

She smirked and believed they all got their karma. 

Olivia continued to beg on the other line, but Elisa wasn’t moved. She was hurt more than thrice, and none of them cared. She was aware her father didn’t love her at all. It was a lie. 

“Can you stop begging?! Since you came into the Barson family, I suffered a lot….. Elisa sighed and didn’t want to discuss it again as it would leave her emotional. 

Olivia darkened her stare. She added, “So, are you satisfied? How do you want you to stop? You destroyed not only Mom but also Dad!” 

At that moment, Olivia wanted to see Elisa and would slap her for all the pain she caused. 

“You want to pay me? Sorry, but I don’t need money coming from you! Besides, I don’t need it!” Elisa said, wanting to make Olivia furious. 

“So five million isn’t that huge from you?” Olivia curiously asked. 

“That wasn’t big enough. So stop calling me now. I won’t let you pay me. I want to get the justice I deserve,” Elisa replied. 

Ten million!” 

“Even if you mention a hundred million, I wouldn’t accept. Just like what I always told you, I want justice. for what your mother has done to me. So stop this shit,” said Elisa and ended the call before Olivia could.

It was all a lie. Elisa needed money and didn’t want to depend on the Fischer family. If she would, Robert would confirm she was indeed a gold digger who only wanted their wealth. But she also couldn’t accept it coming from them. It was a different story. She wanted a hard–earned money. 

To have peace of mind, Elisa blocked her number. Right afterward, she left her room and headed toward Robert’s.. 

However, he halted again when her phone rang. 

“What the hell!” She cursed and was about to block the number, but she found the number too familiar. It was from the investigator who was in charge of her case. 

Without hesitation, Elisa accepted the call. 

“Hi, we have an update on the case,” said the investigator. “She admitted the truth that she instructed those men to kidnap and abuse you. Since we need your signature, please visit the office tomorrow, anytime you are free. Is that okay?” 

Elisa was relieved. That was what she wanted to hear. 

“I will do that,” said Elisa, oblivious to why Suelen confessed. She knew she couldn’t do that. Most probably. she would deny it.

“We will talk further about the case in the office. Thanks, and have a nice day!” the investigator replied, ending the call. 

It was crystal clear on Elisa’s end that Suelen might have admitted the truth so her sentence would be lowered. That was why Suelen would only be sentenced to three years of imprisonment. And after, she. would be free again. 

Once again. Elisa faced Robert’s room door. She checked the time, and it was ten o’clock, so if she knocked, it would bother him. She decided not to continue and went back. She would just wait until tomorrow to talk with him.. 

Elisa returned to her room and lay on the bed, thinking about what had transpired around her. 

Elisa was awakened when the video call ringtone rang, waking up Elisa’s deep slumber. She felt furious knowing she still hadn’t slept well at night and was now forced to wake up by someone’s call. 

Upon checking it, it turned out to be her mother, so she calmed down. Her furiousness faded. 

“Mom! You’re still in the hospital!” Elisa exclaimed soon after her mother appeared on the screen. 

She checked her mother’s background and could tell she was. 

Beatrice confirmed, “Yeah. As you can see.” 

“Can you please tell me a quick update?” Elisa asked. 

“Okay. We have done the basic test. Well, it’s just sad that I am anemic and can’t take surgery in an instant,” replied Beatrice. “But just please don’t worry about me. I will be fine. So I want you to focus on your on your problems there.” 

Elisa forced a smile. She retorted, “I know you will be fine. Just don’t worry about me, too. Please take care of your body after surgery.” 

“I know, I know.” Beatrice moved her camera around and was on cloud nine. “This is such a big wardroom. Look, this looked like a hotel. I didn’t expect this to be this big.” 

“Yeah. I can see here, Mom, Elisa retorted and was happy that she was taken care of. At least her mother- in–law didn’t disappoint her. 

Anna did as she promised. Even took care of her mother like a real family. She didn’t expect that. 

“Well, you know what? I am aware they spend a lot of money on us. I don’t want to disappoint them, so I did everything to be better, follow all instructions so it will be done, Beatrice shared and looked at the side. “I’ll call you again later if I have time. Bye for now.” 

“Alright, bye.” Elisa waved at the video call. 

With that, she did her morning routine and dressed herself. Once she found herself presentable in the 

mirror, she went out of the door. 

At that moment, she realized she needed to meet Robert. 

She immediately went out of her room and wandered her gaze in the hallway. She was about to walk

“Robert?” She mumbled, and as she stepped back, she concluded it was him. 

Even if she wasn’t near him, she started feeling nervous. 

Despite being scared, she was determined to be with and talk to him. 

“If Robert will talk about divorce, I’ll listen and agree…. It’s just too simple.”
