The man glanced up and down at Scott. He did not appear to be poor, nor did he seem like a stingy man, so why was he allowing a woman to pay for him?

Before he could even say anything, Naomi took out four crisp hundred-dollar bills and handed them to him.

With the money at hand, the man did not dare to say anything further and instead took the money from her and gave her the balance. "Here you go, love. Fifty dollars balance."

"Thank you." Naomi took the money from him and checked it briefly before tucking it into her wallet.

On the other hand, the man selling the purse quickly packed up Naomi's purchase, but Naomi stopped him. "It's fine. I just need a bag to carry them around."

All of a sudden, she recalled something and turned to Scott, who was no longer staring at the purse but instead at what the man was doing. She asked, "Do you want yours wrapped up?"

Since he was the one who had bought the purse for someone else, naturally, he should have been the one to pay for it. However, since he made no move to do so, Naomi decided to help him out and pay for his alongside hers. After all, it was only fifty dollars.

If anything, she wanted to repay him for taking care of her the past few days.

"Yes." Scott handed his purse back to the man so that he could wrap it up. The man was even more puzzled by this.

Not only did he allow a woman to pay for his gift to her, but he even wanted it wrapped in front of her? What a strange man.

Although the man was confused, he still did as Scott said and quickly wrapped the purse up with intricate gift wrapping paper.

Scott took it from him, and the two of them continued on their way as though nothing had happened. Naomi did not even seem to be bothered by the exchange. On the other hand, the man selling the purse watched them leave with a frown and could not help muttering, "What a strange man. He looks normal, but what is he thinking?"

Scott did not stop her. Instead, he put her stuff down on the table and poured himself a glass of water. The kettle had kept the water warm, and he felt himself getting warmer as he drank.

The warmth seemed to seep right into his heart, filling it with a fuzzy sensation.

When Naomi finished packing and wheeled the suitcase out, Scott was standing in front of the window, taking a call. He turned around when he heard her but did not stop speaking to the person on the other end of the line.

He was busy, so Naomi did not interrupt him. Instead, she picked up some of his belongings which had been left on the table and packed them into his suitcase for him.

All of a sudden, Scott's husky voice rang out, "I'm going to Las Vegras for a bit. I'll be back in three days."

Naomi paused and looked up.
