Chapter 55 

Amelia watched as Naomi entered the hospital, their figures disappearing from view. She then walked up to Scott with that mocking grin of hers. 

“I have no idea how a great man like you ended up in our small city of Horizon City. Naomi doesn’t tell me many things, and I’m not one to meddle in others‘ affairs. But since Naomi is my friend, you’ll have to put up with it, even if you don’t like it.” 

Amelia stood firm in front of Scott with her arms crossed. She stood just about 1.6 meters. Even in high heels, she did not quite reach 1.7 meters. Nonetheless, her presence was undiminished. 

Standing in front of Scott, she showed no sign of timidity. Scott lowered his gaze to her, silent. His indifferent attitude was enough to instill fear and….a sense of displeasure. 

Pretending not to notice Scott’s demeanor, Amelia continued, “Since you’re divorced, don’t meet her again. Naomi spent three years on you, and that’s enough. She’s proved her worth to you and the Lawson family. If you have even a bit of conscience, don’t disturb her life again. Just live your lives separately, that’s the best for everyone.” 

Amelia felt anger and resentment, all because of Naomi’s connection with Scott. She knew exactly what kind of life Naomi had lived in these three years. 

She felt sorry for her good friend. 

Suppressing the emotions surging in her heart, Amelia gave Scott a final warning look and quickly walked into the hospital. She feared that she might not be able to resist the urge to hit someone if she walked too slowly. 

It was truly the emotionless attitude that made her extremely displeased. 

As Amelia’s footsteps faded, Scott’s fingertip moved slightly. 

She spent three years on him… 

Three years… 

At this moment, his gaze shifted. The deep color within them intensified in an instant, becoming so thick that it was frightening. 

Naomi was worried about Amelia, but the situation left her with little to say. She could only follow everyone into the hospital, pondering the events that would unfold. Lost in her thoughts, she failed to notice Jasper waiting in the hospital lobby. 

Jasper, however, spotted her and also noticed Charles. Simultaneously, Charles spotted Jasper. 

On the transfer documents, Charles had seen the name of the attending physician, so seeing Jasper at this moment did not surprise him. However, Jasper was surprised to see him, especially alongside 

Naomi.

The gazed at the two of them in astonishunment, his eyes darting back and forth between them, finding 

Dean and Bomma had met Jasper before, but it was only three years ago at Naomi and Scott’s wedding They had not seen him since, so they had forgotten about Jasper 

At this moment, they did not recognize him and continued to the elevator with Naomi. 

Charles spoke up “Mr and Mrs. Goodwin, the attending physician is in front.” 

“Huh?” The elderly couple looked at Charles, clearly unsure who he was. 

Charles looked at Jasper and said, “It’s the young doctor in front of us.” 

The elderly couple immediately looked ahead. Naomi, upon hearing Charles‘ words, halted her thoughts and shifted her gaze in that direction. She froze. 

She was looking at the documents and had not noticed him before, and she did not know who the attending physician was. She was not curious either, considering there were so many doctors. She had not expected the doctor to be Jasper. 

In her mind, the scene before she got out of the car played back, and Naomi felt a twinge in her heart. 

Seeing him again after the divorce, he truly changed a great deal. He changed so much that she almost did not recognize him.
