“I heard you’re now working at Aurelith University, Ms. Sanchezi Yonas asked casually, as if he hadn’t noticed the curious glances from the others.

“Yasmine is our teacher?” Yoselin said, her eyes sparkling with excitement. She really adored the kind and graceful Yasmine.

Yasmine was taken aback–the joy in Yoselin’s eyes felt genuine. She nodded and replied, “I’m interning at the counseling

office.

“That’s awesome! Does that mean I can come and hang out with you?” Yoselin’s eyes shone with anticipation. This was their first meeting, yet she felt Yasmine was very familiar and was already quite fond of her.

Yasmine looked at Yoselin and was reminded of the deer she had taken home from Minaret Mountain–both of their eyes were big and innocent.

“Sure,” Yasmine replied with a smile. For now, she felt pretty good about this girl.

“Then I owe you, Ms. Sanchez, for looking after my sister, Yonas said smoothly as he served Yasmine another helping of food. 

Yasmine glanced at the delicious beef in her plate and then back at Yonas, who had a playful gleam in his charming eyes. She couldn’t shake the feeling that she had fallen into his trap,

Lucy was bubbling with curiosity, her eyes sparkling with mischief. Wow, look at Yonas‘ ambiguous eyes. But honestly, could anyone blame him? With Yasmine’s beauty and talent, it’s hard not to be enchanted. And Xavier the jerk is really missing

The five of them enjoyed a warm and cheerful dinner. Afterward, Yonas, with his goal achieved and seeing that Yasmine seemed not in the mood to chat, excused himself politely and took Yoselin and Chuck with him.

Yonas noticed and rubbed her head gently. “You’ll have plenty of chances to hang out with her. Don’t sweat this one time.” ‘Plenty of chances? Yoselin’s eyes lit up. “Is Yasmine going to be my future sister–in–law?”

Back at Yasmine’s place, Lucy was helping clean up after dinner, her curiosity getting the best of her. “Yasmine, I bet Yonas is into you. How did you even meet him? You’ve been keeping this under wraps pretty well. Do you still see me as your best

friend?

Yasmine tied on an apron to tackle the dishes and sighed. “He just needs my help with something. Don’t read too much into it Plus, I’m not looking to jump into a new relationship right now.”

Lucy nearly dropped a plate, her eyes wide in shock. “Yasmine, you’re not still stuck on Xavier the jerk, are you? Don’t tell me you’re planning to be single forever!”
