After all the trouble Eleanor and Bailee went through, they finally arrived at Starry Gemworks during the lunch break.

"Don't worry, Mr. Ware. Bailee is very reliable. Once she commits, she won't jump ship. We're in the company lobby now. Can you please come down and take us?

"Do you even have any self-respect?" Eleanor's voice grew sharper as Yolanda refused to leave. "What's the point of clinging to us like a pest? This wasn't how your family treated us yesterday.

"Now that Bailee's starting at a big company, you're here to try to get something out of it, right? Get lost! We have long severed ties with you!"

Bailee also looked disdainful. "Yolanda, it's pointless even if you came to see me. You didn't even finish middle school and have been in a juvenile detention center. Your future is already ruined!

"I heard that Aunt Diana has been boasting about that First Academy you're attending, but you might as well forget it. Everyone knows you got in through connections. Even if you graduate, which company would want someone like you?"
