"Since you're visiting, let me be the one to treat you," Yolanda offered.

"How could I let you do that? You saved my life last time, and I haven't properly thanked you yet," Simon replied.

Although he had given a painting to Harold as a token of appreciation, he still felt that it was insufficient. To outsiders, his paintings were priceless. But for him, it was merely a matter of lifting his brush. Giving his painting as a gift of gratitude wasn't sincere enough in his opinion.

"That was nothing. Don't worry about it." Yolanda waved her hand dismissively. "I know a good Candonean restaurant nearby. Do you like Candonean cuisine?"

"Oh, yes. Sure!" Simon responded agreeably.

When faced with Yolanda, who had saved his life, Simon didn't put on airs as an elder. Since Yolanda asked him not to mind the issue with his gift, he didn't press further.

"Let's head there now," Yolanda said.

She called Sharon, who was still wandering around the snack street on campus. She had no interest in dining with Simon, so she told Yolanda to go ahead without her.

Roughly 20 minutes later, Yolanda, Gavin, and Simon were seated in a private room at the nearby Candonean restaurant.

"Ms. Henderson, I have a question," Simon began cautiously, sipping his drink. "Your drawing style and the way you sign your artwork are identical to Ms. Harrington's. Could it be that…"

Simon was very curious about Yolanda's relationship with Jess. He had always thought that Jess must have been someone around his own age, or perhaps even older. Given Yolanda's youth, it seemed more likely that she was Jess' relative.

"I'm afraid that won't be possible." Yolanda couldn't reveal that Jess was sitting right in front of him, so she shook her head and politely declined.

"My mentor has gone on a voyage. To seek inspiration, she usually goes to remote nature reserves. Even I have difficulty reaching her," Yolanda explained.

"I see…" Simon looked visibly disappointed. Then, he asked, "When do you think she'll be back?"

"It's hard to say." Yolanda thought for a moment and then added, "She'll likely be back in two or three years if she finds something that inspires her. But if not, she might be gone for five or six years."

"Five or six years?" Simon had something to say. But when it reached the tip of his tongue, he held back and remarked, "Ms. Harrington must be in excellent health!"
