"Alright..." Hayden nodded instinctively before turning to Christina.

"I'll take you there!" Christina giggled and led Hayden to the restroom. She seemed at ease, cheerful, and carefree.

After freshening up, the two of them headed to the kitchen.

"Melinda, is there anything else I can help with?" Hayden asked kindly. It was his first visit, so he wanted to lend a hand and avoid coming across as impolite.

"No, there's no need for that. There's just one last dish to go. You only need to get ready to eat!" Melinda responded with a smile.

"Yes. Let's all sit down to eat!" Aaron added, grinning.

Soon, the four of them gathered at the dining table.

"Would you like a drink? I've got a great bottle of liquor here!" Aaron stood up to fetch it.

Hayden was about to decline but didn't even get the chance before Aaron returned with the opened bottle.

Hayden couldn't help but twitch the corner of his mouth. "This man… They invited me here for dinner or to get drunk? Could this be payback for their daughter drinking too much the other night?" Hayden thought to himself.

"Dad, look at you! He didn't even say whether he wanted to drink, and you've already opened the bottle!" Christina scolded lightly, standing up for Hayden.

"Oh, my bad! So…" Aaron turned to Hayden and asked, "Would you like a drink?"

"How could I refuse your kind offer? Let's drink." Hayden forced a smile and nodded, despite knowing that it was vodka they were drinking.
