"Nathalie!" he shouted, giving her a gentle push.

She pushed him aside and slammed her head against the table leg, blood immediately oozing from her forehead.

"Nathalie, stop it."

"I won't let you hurt yourself."

Morris wrapped his arms around the frantic Nathalie, holding her tightly to keep her safe.

"Nathan, I can't take this anymore. Don't stop me."

"I'll help you," Morris promised, his eyes wet with emotion. "I can't hurt you, so how could I let you hurt yourself?"

"Nathalie, I'm here for you. But you need to listen closely..." He cradled her face in his hands. "I want you, not just to rescue you. I genuinely love you. Deeply."

He leaned in and kissed her softly.

"Nathalie, don't worry, I'll be gentle."
