Chapter 124 It’s Just a Misunderstanding!

Simon struggled to get up from the ground, surrounded by people’s strange looks and insults that fuelled his anger. Unable to hold back, he shouted, “I didn’t do it!”

Upon hearing this, the security guards strode over, ready to beat Simon once more without hesitation. As they beat him, they shouted, “Didn’t do it? We all saw it with our own eyes, and you say you didn’t?

“Hah, you never learn your lesson!”

Others around also joined in kicking Simon until he curled up and begged for mercy. They stopped only when he looked utterly pathetic. The crowd dispersed, leaving Simon lying there, holding his face in agony and seething with hatred.

Why did it have to come to this? Why did it turn out like this?

He just wanted to talk to Kate, to try to win her over emotionally, but he never expected Miles to show up out of nowhere like that!

Simon’s mind was a mess. Just then, his phone in his pocket started ringing.

It was a call from Hendrick.

When Simon saw Hendrick’s name, his expression turned sour. Gritting his teeth, he answered the call, hearing Hendrick’s cold voice on the other end, “The company decided in a meeting to

Simon clenched his teeth and hurriedly explained, “Mr. Lowe, it’s not what you think. It’s just a misunderstanding!”

Hendrick sounded impatient. “Mr. Miles called me personally to explain it, and you’re telling me it’s a misunderstanding? Fine, go beg Mr. Miles. If he forgives you, we won’t revoke your position!”

With that, Hendrick abruptly hung up the phone.

Simon cursed angrily.

After ending the call with excitement, Simon’s face twisted into a sinister smirk.

He clenched his phone tightly, his earlier anger now replaced by deep–seated resentment.
