Just after hanging up, the phone rang again relentlessly.

Filled with disgust and frustration, Simon answered the call. “Hello?”

Holly’s panicked voice came through the other end. “Simon, what should I do? Those people are coming after me for the debt. They’re demanding that I repay the money! But where am I supposed to get that kind of money right now?”

Simon frowned. “Who’s chasing you for debt?”

Holly said in a frantic voice, “It’s all because of that little bitch Kate! She demanded that Ruth and I return the money we took from her. 540 thousand! How could we possibly come up with that? We had to borrow

Simon’s eyes filled with even more disdain. He remained silent, listening to Holly continue, “Simon, can you transfer 70 thousand to me? I need to pay off these people. They said if I don’t repay them, they’ll make my life hell!”

Holly started crying, overwhelmed by the thought of the debt collectors. She was on the verge of breaking down.

There was a loud banging on the door, and Holly covered her mouth in terror. She sobbed quietly, her body trembling as she looked toward the door. Lowering her voice, she whispered to Simon, “Simon… they’re here. What should I do?”

“Aunt Holly, there’s nothing I can do right now. You know that little bitch Kate kicked me out of Lowe Group. I don’t have any money either, so I really can’t help you,” Simon said coldly, hanging up immediately after..

When Holly called again, Simon felt fed up and blocked her number. Finally, some peace and quiet.

Since Eric woke up, Kate hadn’t gone back to Davison Group. She stayed at the hospital, keeping

torture for him. 

The doctor glanced at her and respectfully said, “Mr. Davison has always been in good health, and he’s recovering well so far. The impact on his brain wasn’t too severe. With some more rest, he should be fine. As for his arm and leg, it takes a hundred days to heal bones and tendons, so don’t rush it.”

Kate finally breathed a sigh of relief. After seeing the doctor out, she sat by Eric’s bedside and began peeling an apple for him.

Eric leaned back against the bed, watching Kate’s actions with unwavering tenderness in his eyes.

“Ric, here!”

Kate sliced a piece of apple and brought it to Eric’s mouth.

Eric opened his mouth slightly, biting into the piece of apple and chewing it slowly, his gaze never leaving Kate. “Is it sweet?” Kate asked expectantly, quickly cutting the apple into smaller pieces.

“Very sweet,” Eric nodded. He picked up a piece of apple and held it up to Kate’s mouth. Kate paused for a moment, then smiled and leaned down to bite the apple.
