Kate couldn’t hide her grin as Eric polished off the chicken soup, surprising him with a quick peck on the cheek. Her eyes sparkled playfully. “Eric, you’re such a sweetheart.”

Getting called a ‘sweetheart‘ was a new experience for Eric, catching him off guard. He paused for a beat, his cheeks flushing as he gathered his composure.

Coughing lightly, he caught Kate’s attention. “Kate?”
