"Trying the same old trick of climbing into my bed again?"

The voice that came abruptly startled Kisa, who almost dropped her phone on the floor. She panicked and looked toward the sound and found a flickering spot of fire at the window. Gilbert was not sleeping but smoking in the darkness of the night. Since he was not sleeping, Kisa went straight to turn on the light. As the light came on, she saw his cold and despicable handsome face.

He looked like he had God's favor; he not only was rich and powerful but also had a face that made women jealous. It was a pity that his unfeeling expression ruined the good-looking face.

Gilbert exhaled a smoke ring and chuckled. "You are really desperate for Howard, eh? Unfortunately, even if you stand in front of me naked, I will not feel a thing. So, save your breath." He had just calmed his anger down earlier, and now this woman came in to piss him off again.

Kisa ignored his cynicism and asked calmly, "Do you have an extra quilt?"

Gilbert was slightly startled, seemingly not expecting her to come in and ask for a quilt. He took an annoying drag on his cigarette and grunted. "No. Get out."

Kisa pursed her lips and walked toward the door obediently. Gilbert stared at her from behind. Seeing her bony back and bare feet irritated him even more. He put out his cigarette and said, "Come back."

Kisa subconsciously stopped and frowned at him. "What again?"

"Go to bed."

His cold, command-like words startled Kisa. She looked at him with her eyes widened.

It was definitely warmer under the covers than on the couch. She did not know why Gilbert was so kind as to give up the bed for her, but since he was not sleeping, she would not waste it.

Kisa slept until noon the next day. The room was silent. She remained in a daze for a long while before she realized where she was and scrambled up to look for Gilbert. But there was no sign of the man in the entire suite. She went to the window again and looked carefully. The thugs around the hotel last night seemed to have left. Perhaps Anthony had been convinced that she was not with Gilbert.

Thinking that Ariella had to attend a brand event at 4pm, she simply washed up before getting ready to go out. This brand event was organized by The Mullen Group. It was a public event, so Anthony would not dare to do anything, even if he saw her.
