Asha’s POV
I squared my shoulders as I faced my father, my eyes narrowing at him in anger.
I crossed my arms tightly over my chest, the weight of years of frustration and jealousy boiling to the surface.
My father simply stood before me, his usual composed demeanor tinged with a rare expression of exasperation, but I didn’t care. Not anymore
“She doesn’t even call you Father!” I spat, my voice trembling with anger.
“Not once in her life has Astrid ever acknowledged you as her father. And yet, you treat her like she’s some prized treasure.
Why, Father? Because you feel guilty for neglecting her? She’s just your illegitimate child! It’s best that she realize she’s not special!” I blurted out angrily.
Alpha Theron’s jaw tightened, but he didn’t speak. That silence — his silence — was what always drove me mad.
He would never defend himself, never justify his actions, as if I were the one being unreasonable. But I wasn’t.
“She’s ungrateful!” I continued, pacing back and forth as my emotions surged.
“She shows up only when she needs something from you, and you let her. Every single time, you let her.
You bend over backward for her, giving her everything, while I—” My voice broke despite my best efforts to keep it steady. “While I have spent my entire life proving my worth to you.”
Alpha Theron exhaled slowly, his broad shoulders rising and falling. “Asha, this is not about worth. Astrid—”
“Don’t!” I snapped, cutting him off. “Don’t defend her to me. Don’t pretend she’s some innocent victim here. She’s never been a part of this family. She doesn’t want to be. All she cares about is what she can take from you. And you…you let her!”
I turned to face him fully, my hands clenched into fists at my sides. “You’ve always excused her behavior, Father. I don’t really understand why!”
Alpha Theron’s sharp gaze finally locked onto mine, and for a moment, I thought he might raise his voice. But he didn’t.
He rarely did. Instead, his deep voice remained steady, a low rumble of authority. “Asha, that is enough.”
“Enough?” I laughed bitterly. “No, Father. It’s not enough. It’s never enough. You should stop this, stop spoiling her and tolerating her disrespectful attitude.
His silence was deafeningand it made me curly my fist in anger like my words had no effect on him.
“She doesn’t deserve this special treatment,” I hissed. “She doesn’t deserve your kindness or your forgiveness. She’s a parasite, feeding off your guilt and your misplaced love.”
“Asha,” Alpha Theron said, his tone sharper now. “That is not the way to speak about your sister.”
