"Well, we must be fated. I have the same goal as well." Elijah once thought his ambition was rather far-fetched, but now he saw it differently.

After a glance at him, Liesel leaned back in her seat to rest.

Elijah knew she wasn't in the mood to talk. Smiling, he shook his head as he bandaged her hand. "Don't hurt yourself next time. You have such nice hands. How can you scar them?"

Liesel remained silent.

Yet this sickly beauty could still deliver the sharpest words.

"I thought we were friends. I'm not just helping you for the profit this time."

Elijah knew he was the kind of person who wouldn't take action unless he saw something to gain, but being called out so directly by Liesel left him feeling a bit uncomfortable.

"I think we're not really friends. Even if we were, some things need to be clarified. You helped me, so I'm giving you a chance for collaboration. That's my principle."

Her words sounded pleasant, but they were really meant to draw a line with Elijah.
