“This is it. Everybody take your place. Quickly” I hissed and watched as pack members got down on their hands and knees, hiding behind pieces of furniture, my hand switching the light off as Regan came downstairs, unaware of what was happening. This was a surprise for her and I didn’t want it ruined.
Xander had done a good job of keeping her upstairs and as he followed her, he looked more than satisfied with himself. When he had spoken about how she felt in regards to never having anything for herself, it had occurred to me what we could do to help Regan feel a little more special and appreciated. Now as she walked in, I flicked on the light switch and everybody jumped up, shouting “surprise” and taking her completely aback.
“What’s going on?” she asked, looking around the room in awe.
We had decorated it in both pink and blue, with balloons everywhere and gifts wrapped on the table. Regan looked lost as she glanced between us all. I smiled, reaching for her hand while Xander grinned at everyone. They had all helped to bring this project to life and I had personally thanked each and everybody who was present today for their contribution. Regan might not know it, but she was highly valued in the pack now and everybody was beginning to respect her as the Luna.
“It’s your baby shower” I explained quietly. “We wanted to do something nice for you and we thought this might be a good way to show you how much we care.”
Her eyes began to brighten with excitement as we led her to the couch and sat her down. She put a hand to her mouth, looking on the verge of tears. No doubt this was unexpected and I was more than a little proud of what Xander and I had managed to accomplish in a reasonably short amount of time.
“You did all of this for me?” she whispered, her voice cracking slightly.
“We wanted you to have something that was just for you” Xander explained, as Regan turned and flung herself into our
arms.
She gave a sob. “It’s perfect.”
“Wait until you open the gifts” teased Chantelle, one of our pack members and Regan laughed, excitedly opening a gift that was handed to her.
It was time to get this party started. Everybody wanted to celebrate the upcoming birth of an Alpha and Luna pup and the pack members were excited to see how happy their leaders were as we awaited the arrival of our child.
All this effort had been worth it to see the look on our mate’s face. Even with Heather on the loose, Xander and I had come to realize that we couldn’t let our lives continue to be on hold. Not anymore. Regan deserved to celebrate major milestones happening in her life and so did we. We wanted to celebrate the upcoming birth of our pup. I was longing to be a father, and I knew that Xander felt the same. Whatever awkwardness or conflict that he and Regan had felt in regard to his child with Isabelle had thankfully been resolved. I let out a sigh of relief. It had never occurred to either of us to get a paternity test to see who the father of Regan’s child was. We were happier not knowing. Both of us would be the father. We were all mates, and it was how we expected things to be.
“You guys are the best” Regan whispered, tears trailing down her cheeks.
“Whoa, Regan, we did this to make you happy” Xander sounds panicked as he tries to comfort our sobbing mate.
He more than anyone, hated it when our mate cried. He tried to frantically soothe her but the floodgates had already opened.

“I am happy” she howled as the other pack members shot each other knowing looks, “That’s why I can’t stop crying
Xander looked lost. I stepped in and gently rubbed circles on Regan’s back, causing her to hiccup and look at me with wide eyes. “Would you like to see what Xander and I have to gift you?” I asked her gently,
Her eyes lit up. The other pack members grinned at each other. Xander and I had been kept busy doing this under Regan’s nose and keeping it a secret. There had been a few times she had almost stumbled upon us, but we’d luckily managed to keep her from managing to see what we had been up to.
“What is it?” she asked excitedly.
I laughed at her exuberance. She was practically bouncing up and down on her seat. Xander shot a glance at me silently communicating as she looked between us, wrinkling her brow. I reached down and helped her up, making her stand. “For this, we have to go upstairs,” I told her as she looked back at me confused. “This isn’t the sort of gift we can bring to you” I tried to explain.
“Okay,” she said slightly puzzled.
I began to lead the way. Once we reached the landing, I paused and then put my hands over her eyes, preventing her from seeing anything. “Keep your eyes closed” I instructed her as she giggled.
I had never seen my mate so happy as she looked today. I breathed in and then slowly exhaled, my wolf ecstatic at what he envisioned our mate’s reaction was about to be.
Xander moved to open the door. I slowly guided Regan towards the bedroom that was adjoining our own. We stepped inside and then I pulled my hands back, allowing them to fall by my side. Regan’s mouth shot open, and she gaped, slowly turning inside the room as she tried to take it all in. There was so much for her to see, her hand slowly creeping to her mouth as she stared at everything in awe.
The room had been turned into a nursery. Xander and I had painted it a stunning pale mint green color and organized a mural to be painted on one wall. The mural had black and white wolves on it, along with several baby wolves. There were trees, foliage, and more in the mural. It was rather stunning. There were two cots and two bassinettes in the room. A double pram, changing table, a diaper bag, and everything you could possibly need had also been set up. There was a dark green rug in the middle of the floor, and we had found stuffed wolf plush animals to place in the cots and on the floor. We had kept to greens, blacks, greys, and white colors and kept it relatively neutral as we didn’t know the gender of our pup yet. We had worked hard on it and my face was gleaming with pride as I took in the results of mine and Xander’s hard work
We wanted Regan to be able to relax, knowing that our pup already had somewhere to sleep and be cared for, without having to take care of that on top of her already somewhat ever–growing list of things to do.
