Chapter 457
Sebastian was the prospective son-in-law of the family head, making the difference in status clear.
Clara, however, was furious. "You wretched lackey, how have you become so arrogant after just a few days?
"I'll have you know, you're nothing but a filthy toad, while I am a noble lady! You could never aspire to someone like me, so give up now!"
Theo wrapped his arm around Clara's shoulder and said, "Hear that, you filthy toad? Clara is my woman. I
command you to leave Phoenix Island immediately, or I will end your miserable life!"
Sebastian frowned. Theo's words made him uncomfortable, and he felt an urge to slap him.
But he restrained himself since this was their territory.
More importantly, he didn't want to cause trouble for Artemis. She had saved him, brought him here, and taken care of him. He owed her a great deal.
If he caused trouble, it would implicate Artemis, which he didn't want.
Artemis couldn't stand it anymore. "Mr. Theo, you're going too far. This marriage was arranged by my uncle and has nothing to do with Seamus.
"If you have an issue with this, take it up with my uncle. Bullying someone with amnesia is beneath you."
Clara was furious. "Artemis, stay out of this. And why do you keep defending him? Could it be that you like him?" "Stop talking nonsense, Clara. There's nothing like that," Artemis quickly denied, but a blush crept onto her face. Clara sneered. "Your reaction says otherwise. You're an unmarried girl, and you're alone with him in a cave. What could you possibly be doing?
"Something indecent, perhaps?"
"Clara, stop spouting nonsense!" Artemis was enraged.
