Chapter 470

Upon hearing this, Artemis' expression changed drastically.

Cleef was furious. He said, "Mr. Lorence, you are an elder. How can you say such outrageous things?"

Amos sneered. "Mr. Strauss, a bet naturally comes with conditions. Besides, my brother is excellent. What's wrong with finding him a wife?"

Manuel Lorence chimed in excitedly, "Amos is right. A bet is fair. You can propose your own terms too."

"Look at your age! The age gap is too big!" Cleef was livid as he said.

Manuel was nearly 50 years old. He was short and stout, known for his peculiar fetishes. He had married and toyed with five or six wives, all of whom died under his abuse.

Amos dismissed the concern and said, "Age is not an issue. Whether on Phoenix Island or in the secular world, it's common for older men to marry young women. What's the problem? As for the age gap, it doesn't matter since there's no blood relation. Why not?"

"Mr. Strauss, weren't you quite confident earlier? Why hesitate now?" Manuel taunted, aiming to provoke Cleef into accepting the bet.

He had long coveted Artemis and wanted to bring her back for his pleasure.

If Artemis, the most talented of the Strauss family's younger generation, joined the Lorence family, it would be even harder for the Strauss family to rise again.

Suddenly, Cleef enraged. He responded, "Ridiculous! Why would I be afraid? I'll bet. If you lose, I want your best medicinal plant farm for ten years."

"Sure! It's a deal!" Amos accepted without hesitation, fearing Cleef might change his mind.

He knew the abilities of Artemis and Clara well. He knew that they stood no chance of winning because they were both newly entered into the Grandmaster Realm and were the weakest participants.

As for Sebastian, he didn't consider him a threat at all.

"Uncle, how could you agree to this?" Artemis asked as her face turned pale with fear.

Artemis nodded. Forcing a smile, she thought Sebastian was merely trying to comfort her.

Seeing an opportunity, Robert couldn't stay silent. He looked at Cleef and said, "Mr. Strauss, how about a bet with us too?"

"What do you want to bet?" Cleef asked angrily.

Robert smiled as he said, "I bet your family won't win a single medicinal plant farm. If you lose, give me your Spirit Herbs."

"How do you know about my Spirit Herbs?" Cleef asked. He was shocked because he had never told anyone, not even his wife or daughter.

Robert replied, "You don't have to care about how I know. I'm asking you now. Do you dare to bet?"

Having already given the Spirit Herbs to Sebastian, Cleef was about to refuse when Sebastian interjected, "Alright, we accept. If you lose, you must give us your best medicinal plant farm for ten years!"
