Chapter 487
Yasmin was furious. "Clara, how could you be so vicious? Apologize to Seamus right now!"
Clara quickly turned to Sebastian. "Honey, I'm sorry. I wasn't thinking straight before, but I've changed now. Trust me, I'll be a devoted wife from now on."
Hugo grinned wryly. "If you could turn over a new leaf, pigs would fly."
He continued, "Seamus, do you believe me now? And by the way, there's something I need to
tell you. Two days ago, she served you a cup of tea laced with drugs before our match. However, it seems to have had no effects on you."
"Honey, he's just making things up. I didn't put any ironbane powder in that tea," Clara quickly clarified.
She figured that since Sebastian seemed fine, the drug must have lost its effect. As long as she denied it, she thought she would be okay.
Yasmin immediately covered her eyes, her head throbbing.
Hugo had only said "drug" in general terms, but Clara's quick claim of ironbane powder was a huge blunder.
Hugo said sarcastically, "Clara, you're amazing. I never said it was ironbane powder. How did you know?"
She broke into a cold sweat. "I was just guessing."
"Yeah, right," came the skeptical murmurs. Only someone naive would buy that.
Sebastian released Hugo and walked toward Clara.
"What are you going to do to me?" She staggered backward in fear.
She was fully aware of his ruthless nature. After all, he could kill Theo without hesitation, and she knew a single slap from Sebastian could easily be fatal.
Suddenly, a mocking laugh echoed from nearby.
Everyone looked up to see a group of strangers standing on the rooftop across the square. They clearly weren't from the island.
The group leaped from the rooftop, effortlessly crossing over 30 feet and landing near the Destiny Stage.
The crowd gasped. Even grandmasters could only leap 15 or 20 feet. So, seeing a whole group pull off such a feat was terrifying.
"Who are you?" Cleef asked warily.
The leader, an old man in a gray robe, smiled coldly. "I am Bryson Sanguine, though most people call me Blood Demon."
"What? You're Blood Demon?"
The crowd was horrified. The more faint-hearted among them even collapsed to the ground in fear.
