Chapter 121 Ruin Layla 

“Yeah, indeed. The next generation’s genes must be really strong.” 

James focused entirely on his math problem. He felt a bit awkward hearing the professor’s comment. 

In contrast, Layla blushed and glanced shyly at him before she hung her head down. 

The professor and the graduate students teased James for this reaction. They suggested that James shouldn’t spend all his time working on the math problems but should also balance it with some social life. 

“Ahem, did you just solve this problem?” James redirected the conversation, asking Layla. 

At first, Layla was tempted to say yes, but she was reminded of Isabelle’s quick solution. Her vanity took over, and she said boldly, “No, I solved it a few days ago.” 

Everyone was impressed and gave her a thumbs up. 

James hadn’t expected Layla to solve it so quickly. He felt a pang of guilt for doubting her earlier. 

“Everyone here? Am I late?” Magnus laughed as he walked in. 

Taking the notebook that James handed over, Magnus nodded approvingly as he glanced through it. His eyes were full of admiration for Layla. 

The lab was filled with laughter and joy, and Layla basked in the glory. 

Suddenly, a figure appeared in her line of sight, catching her off guard. 

Layla’s smile froze as she saw Isabelle standing at the lab door, arms crossed. She was leaning lazily against the doorframe. 

Isabelle was watching her with a half–smile. 

In that instant. Layla felt like she was staring death in the face. Her mind was buzzing, so she forgot to 

scream 

Isabelle straightened up and began walking towards her, her gaze filled with terror. 

As Isabelle got closer, 

Layla’s legs gave way, and she nearly fell.. 

She steadied herself at the table, barely managing to support herself. 

Logan was feeling down when everyone tried to set up his brother with Layla. Then, he saw Isabelle come

“Isabelle, what are you doing here?” 

Logan called out in surprise and quickly got up to greet her. 

“Principal Burton mentioned a female math genius from my hometown with the same last name as mine is here, so I came to check it out,” Isabelle said as she walked over, her eyes assessing Layla

“Isabelle? The one who scored a perfect math score on the college entrance exam, the student you personally recruited?” a professor asked Magnus. 

“That’s right.” Magnus answered with a nod. 

He was about to properly introduce Isabelle when she reached out and took the notebook from his hand. 

This action struck everyone as somewhat rude. 

After all, Magnus was both an elder and the school principal, Isabelle was just a student and a junior. 

Magnus smiled at everyone, indicated it was okay, and didn’t mind this. He even looked at Isabelle fondly. 

He was known for being kind to students, but his indulgence towards Isabelle was clearly more than usual. 

Isabelle looked at the notebook and said, “Not only are we from the same place and have the same last name, but our handwriting is also quite similar.” 

She flipped to the first page. 

On the first page of the notebook, Layla’s name was written. 

Seeing the handwriting. Isabelle let out a mocking laugh. 

Layla instantly felt guilty and nervous, her entire body trembling. 

In order to perfectly mimic Isabelle’s handwriting, she had spent the summer buying a bunch of handwriting practice books to mimic Isabelle’s writing, but she only managed to get about seventy to eighty percent of the way there. 

She was still practicing, but no matter how much she practiced, she couldn’t replicate Isabelle’s bold and flamboyant style. 

Compared to Isabelle’s handwriting, hers was a poor imitation. 

No one else picked up on the sarcasm in Isabelle’s tone. 

*She can truly be considered a genius for solving such a challenging problem as a freshman. Did you also get a perfect score in math on the college entrance exam?” Isabelle asked Layla after looking through the notebook. 

Magnus interjected, “Layla didn’t take the college entrance exam. She was admitted directly.” 

“Admitted directly? Given the significance of the event, why did I, as her sister, remain unaware?” Isabelle looked at Layla. “Didn’t you say you scored 700 points on the college entrance exam?” 

“Oh, you two are sisters? Magnus looked at them in surprise, thinking they didn’t look alike at all. 

Noticing Layla’s ghastly pale face, Magnus asked worriedly, “Are you alright?”

Layla forced out a smile that was uglier than crying. She admitted, “Yes, she’s my sister. We’re twins.” 

Twins? They looked nothing alike.

These two were twins? Logan was already frustrated; he felt even more upset now. He couldn’t help but comment, “Why did she pretend not to know you on the first day of school?” 

Isabelle asked again. “Were you admitted directly or did you score 700 points? 

Magnus answered. “She was admitted directly–it’s a big deal. Layla, you don’t have to be so modest.” Despite his statement, he remained perplexed. 

Others also looked at Layla with confusion. 

Did the sisters not get along well? Is that why Isabelle didn’t know about such an important event? 

But then, why would she claim to have scored 700 points?
