Archie lowered his head and let out a perfectly executed sigh, his face filled with guilt. "I failed at the task Mr. Russell entrusted me with. The box containing the map… I lost it while I was unconscious."

His explanation was logical and seamless.

Stanley nodded, patting Archie on the shoulder in a reassuring manner. "You did your best. Mr. Russell won't blame you."

"But..." Stanley's tone suddenly shifted. "How do you know there was a map inside that box?"

Archie's eyes flickered, but he kept his head bowed, revealing nothing on his face.

Damn it. He had slipped up!

Archie's mind raced as he tried to come up with a reasonable excuse to cover this oversight. However, before he could form a coherent response, Stanley moved past the topic. "Let's go and see Mr. Russell."

The slightly ajar door was pushed open, and Stanley strode inside.

Stephan's bedroom was spacious, bright, and decorated in a minimalist style dominated by black and gray tones. The layout was simple yet exuded a sense of understated luxury.

Archie followed, expecting the room to be empty. To his surprise, a medical team was present, monitoring Stephan's condition and recording even the slightest fluctuations in his vitals.

Stanley walked straight in and asked, "When will Mr. Russell wake up?"

The leader of the medical team, an elderly doctor, adjusted his glasses and replied, "Soon. Once this round of medication is administered, it should be no more than two days."

"Alright."

Stanley breathed a sigh of relief, and for the first time, a genuine smile appeared on his face. "Thank you all for your hard work."

"Well… Suit yourself." Stanley was indeed quite busy and didn't see any issue with leaving. With a full medical team on site and Archie being one of their own, there was no reason to worry.

Soon, Stanley left the room.

Throughout the day, a few other subordinates stopped by to check on Stephan. They exchanged pleasantries with Archie, and when asked about his miraculous survival, he repeated the story he had prepared earlier.

Having been one of them before, Archie knew how to handle them. They had once fought side-by-side, and their camaraderie as brother-in-arms remained intact. Even now, as a member of the Russell family, that fact would never change.

His return was a surprise to many, but their shared history meant they welcomed him back with genuine joy.

After dealing with his former comrades, Archie rubbed his face wearily. Noticing an assistant doctor preparing to take Stephan's temperature, he quickly stepped forward and said with a friendly smile, "Here, let me do it."
