“Slap!” the sound resonated through the hall, provoking all the captives to tremble in fear.

It fell on Delaney's face unexpectedly, causing her to fall onto the hard concrete pavement. Knowing that she was with a child, she used her hand to protect her tummy, which made her land on her ass, flinching in the process.

“You b*tch! Are you trying to defy my orders? Now, take them off!” he barked.

Great. The slave said she should avoid getting under his eyes, and she just walked under them.

Delaney's wolf growled in her head. She wanted to kill the bastard for disrespecting her. Her fingernails also elongated, making her panic. She'd never gotten such a reaction from her wolf before, and she didn't want her to blow her cover of being a human. Hell! she still needs to keep calm until Delaney figures out who kidnapped her.

The moment her wolf was about to leap right at him, Delaney shouted. “No! Don't do that, ugh, wolfy! I can handle this. Please don't! For our baby.”

Gosh, I'm so pathetic. I don't even know how to communicate with my wolf. A few months ago, if anyone had told her she'd be thinking about how to get through with her wolf, she would have called them crazy. It's a wonder how life changes with time.

‘It's Esme.’ whispered a voice in Delaney's head.

She was so shocked. Is that… could that be her… wolf?

‘Yes, call me Esmeralda or Esme. You have babies inside you.’ with that she settled back, leaving her stunned.

Black lines appeared on Delaney's forehead. Babies?

“Are you listening? Take off the damn clothes, or I will do it for you!” the guard yelled, snapping out of my trance.

The guard raised his gigantic legs to kick her tummy, but Delaney was quick to dodge this time. Call it instinct or whatever, but they need to protect her child overcome everything. She silently stood up and began undressing.

Gritting her teeth, she marked the guard's face. If she were to kill everyone in here, he will be the first one to die.

When her clothes came off, the guard eyed her body greedily. Anyone could tell what he was thinking at that moment. The lust in his eyes was apparent. Delaney had to lower her head to prevent him from seeing the anger in her eyes.

Because of the recent changes, her body has become smoother and more delicate than before. Even her dark hair seems healthier and shinier. The dirt on it couldn't conceal her beauty. I guess that's a perk of being an immortal.

When they were all undressed, the guards made them stand in the bath area as they blasted them with cold water.

“Wash up quickly!”

As Delaney scrubbed my body, she couldn't help but think about her current situation. At first, she thought it was the best option to stay locked up since it will prevent her mates from finding her, but now that she's pregnant with Rakel's babies, she can't possibly remain in here, can she?

After their soapless bath, another guard gave her something to wear before dragging her to another chamber. Delaney focuses her attention on that slave, using the mind link to communicate with her.

‘Hey, have you ever seen the person in charge?’ Laney turns in time to see her shaking her head. No.

Subsequently, after spending an hour In the room, the door opened. Delaney gasped in horror when she discovered the person in charge. “You?”

She didn't know who she was expecting to meet, imagine her shock when she saw her stepdad walking in with a smirk on his lips. Laney thought he was in prison after he killed the woman who she has always believed was her mother. This bastard used an aphrodisiac on her at twelve, using her for his sick needs.

“Don't tell me you are one of the hunters?” she asked, looking at him vigilantly as he locked the door behind him.

“Bingo! I've been searching everywhere for you, my dear. My sources inform me you've been whoring yourself with those animals, Delaney. If you are sex-starved, you should have come back to me. I'll make you feel better than those bastards. To be honest, you've disappointed me, my dear. Anyway, that won't be a problem now that I'm here.” he grinned devilishly, causing a shiver to run down her spine.

Taking a deep breath, she forced herself to face him. After all, she's no longer the weak Delaney he knew. She is stronger now. “W- what are you planning, Josh?”

He moved closer and flicked the hair from her face with a crazed look in his eyes. “That… I can tell you.” he clapped his hands and several people in white came in. They took hold of her hand, dragging her to a bed in the room's corner, binding both her hands and legs.

“Wh- what are you doing?” Delaney questioned, her heart thumping hard.

Josh sat on the bed, patting her hand. “We've been investigating options for destroying those animals and stopping them from using our females as their sex toys, just like they used you, but we haven't succeeded. So, we've come up with another idea, which is controlling our females as the very thing that will wipe out them. Tell me, Delaney, what will happen when you kill the leaders of both werewolves and vampires? What will result to the rest?”
