Chapter 107

Warren stepped out of the room and paused for a moment before saying, “She seemed pretty happy. She took a bunch of photos too.

Sebastian gave a quiet response and started heading back to his room.

But James quickly grabbed his arm. “You knew why she was crying, didn’t you? That’s why you‘ told us to take her out, huh?”

Sebastian replied, “Just go get some sleep, hm? I’ve still got a few things to take care of.” With that, he sat down on the couch, grabbed the laptop resting nearby, and got right to work.

James wrinkled his nose at Warren, mumbling, “Typical workaholic.”

Abigail woke up thirsty and dragged herself out of bed, glancing at the clock. It was almost one. She figured Sebastian must’ve gotten back by now and had already crashed.

She got up and quietly opened the door. The moment she stepped into the hallway, she spotted Sebastian sitting on the couch in the lounge, typing away on his keyboard.

He had on a pair of gold–rimmed glasses. The sharp lines of his face, usually cool and indifferent, seemed softer and more refined behind the lenses. He looked like a completely different person–more like a stern professor than his usual laid–back self.

Abigail reined in her thoughts and couldn’t help but ask, “Mr. Robinson? You’re still up?”

Sebastian looked up and noticed her standing there in the soft glow, dressed in plain cotton pajamas. They were white with a faint yellow print, clearly from years back. He could tell she had had it for years.

He took off his glasses, brushed back a strand of hair that had fallen onto his forehead, and replied, “I was just about to. I’ve got time tomorrow, so anywhere you want to go?”

Abigail suddenly had this weird feeling like he could see all the little disappointments she kept hidden. Avoiding his gaze, she walked to the fridge. “i already did some sightseeing today. I’ll just tag along to work with you tomorrow.”

Sebastian walked over and leaned against the fridge with one hand, glancing down at her as she reached in for a bottle of water.

He said, “Mr. Brown won’t be available tomorrow either. He needs those files first thing in the morning, and I’ve already wrapped them up.”

Abigail closed the fridge and looked at him, bottle in hand. “So there’s nothing left for me to do?”

With a hint of amusement in his eyes, Sebastian smiled, “Since when do you like working so much?”

Abigail shrugged. “It’s not like that.”

Sebastian replied, “Everything has been handled already. So, let’s make some plans tomorrow, take a few days to enjoy ourselves, and then head back. With that, he turned and headed to his room.

Abigail watched his back, her chest tight with all the things she wanted to say. But in the end, she stayed silent. For all she knew, imagination running wild.

Just as she turned to head back to her own room, Sebastian suddenly spoke. “Abigail, do you like Blairwind?”

“I do,” she said quietly, her mood easing a little. Then, she added, “They took me hiking up Pioneer Fortress, showed me all these beautiful gardens, and we had the local roast chicken. Apparently, it’s a must–try here.”

Sebastian nodded at her words before smirking and saying in a low voice, “Next time you want to visit a city, just let us know

Hearing that, Abigail stood frozen in place. She only came back to her senses after he had gone into his room and closed the door behind him.

She wondered, ‘Is Sebastian messing with me again? Sure, he has joked around plenty of times before, but… this felt different.

Once Abigail had pulled herself together, she returned to her room with a slight blush on her face, though what she felt most was pure happiness.

Sebastian was sitting on the couch in the lounge, sipping coffee. Noticing that she looked well–rested, he turned to James and asked, So, where are we going today?”
