Chapter 256
“Let’s order—I’m kinda hungry,” Abigail said, not wanting to dwell on the tople any longer. As far as she was concomed, his explanation today was good
enough
“Alright. James actually stashed a piece of aged ham here three years ago. It’s supposed to be super rare. Want to try it?” Sebastian offered, as James had told him eller.
Honestly, it was a prized piece James had gone to great lengths to get. Aher phting some to a few elders, he’d left the last piece at this restaurant, saving it for a special occasion.
But for his best friend, Sebastian, he didn’t hesitate to give it up.
“If it’s that special, shouldn’t we share it? Maybe we can ask them to join us.” Abigail suggested.
“I’ll call and see if they’re free. Sebastian pulled out his phone.
Abigail nodded. When James and Warren arrived, they were surprised to see the two of them looking completely fine.
“You forgave him that easily?” James asked with a smirk, clearly enjoying the drama as he sat down
Sebastian had already switched seats and was now sitting beside Abigail, Leaning back with the menu in hand, he turned to her and said, “it’s not like did anything wrong, I came clean, didn’t I?
“That woman called you, then patched me in so I’d hear everything, obviously hoping I’d get mad. If I actually took the bait, wouldn’t that be exactly what she wanted?” Abigail said.
Sebastian grinned. “I knew my girl would always have my back”
Abigail thought, Wiber everything he’s done for me behind the scenes, how could I not stand by him?

“He said on the phone that he was serious with every girl he dated. I mean, having exes isn’t unusual these days, but he’s clearly had a lot of “serious” relationships,” she said. Watching Sebastian gloat, she decided to scare him a little.
Sebastian immediately tightened his grip on the menu and cleared his throat. “That was just to mess with ida”
“What’s her deal? How is she related to your family?” Abigail asked curiously.
“She’s worked for the Robinson family for years. Basically climbed her way up from housekeeper to lady of the house,” Sebastian replied
He treated ida politely, not because he respected her, but because–just like Abigail he had zero expectations for the Robinson family. Nothing in his future had anything to do with them.
The problem was that the Robinson family didn’t see it that way.
“People forget where they come from. That’s just how they are,” Sebastian said.
Abigail nodded in full agreement. Just then, Warren chimed in, “So you forgave him even after he claimed to be serious with all those girls!”
“Are you done?” Sebastian swatted at him with the menu.
Sebastian joked, “Classic. You can’t bear to see your best friend struggle, but also can’t stand him doing too well.”
