As Abigail took it and looked at him, she realized how close they were standing. He was turned slightly, and if she shifted even a little, it would feel like she was stepping into his arms.
Noticing her daze, Sebastian raised an eyebrow, the corner of his lip curving into a faint smile. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing.” Abigail averted her gaze and quietly stepped back a little, forcing herself to focus on the food.
“Don’t eat too much fruit. The appetizers will be served soon,” Sebastian stood beside her and reminded.
Abigail picked some green grapes, skewered one, and put it in her mouth. She bit down gently, and the juice instantly filled her mouth. The sweet and cool grapes quickly cooled her restlessness.
She ate several in a row and noticed Sebastian was still beside her, seemingly watching her eat.
Feeling nervous, she said with a slightly hoarse voice, “These green grapes are quite sweet. Want to try one?”
“Sure,” Sebastian said, skewered a grape from her plate, and put it in his mouth. He tasted the overly cloying sweetness of the grape for his palate.
“Go on,” Sebastian leaned against the dining table and tilted his head to look at the serious–faced girl beside him.
Sebastian fell into thought. After a moment, he spoke again. “What if the machine isn’t accurate? Data is just theory, and human illnesses are ever- changing. Inaccurate treatment will increase medical pressure, which conflicts with our original philosophy.”
“Timely innovation and sharing of the database are very necessary. Of course, I know each hospital has its own profit targets, so sharing databases is hard to achieve. But healthcare should prioritize people’s health.
