Sophie couldn't believe how excited Jenna was about opening presents. With a genuine smile, she suggested, "Hey Jenna, why don't you open all these gifts for me?"

Jenna chuckled, "No way! This is something you need to do yourself."

With a grin, Jenna added, "You never know, you might open one and find something worth a mansion!"

Sophie laughed at the thought. She knew the guests today were all wealthy and wouldn't skimp on their gifts, but a mansion? That was a bit much.

Just then, there was a knock at the door.

"Come in!" Jenna called out.

A server stepped in and said, "Ma'am, Mr. Colby is waiting for you in the lobby."

"Got it, I'll be right there."

Sophie had changed into a more comfortable black dress. As she made her way to the lobby, she hadn't taken more than a couple of steps when an arm suddenly wrapped around her neck, pulling her into a corner.

Instinctively, Sophie fought back, sinking her teeth into the arm holding her. A pained yelp followed: "Ouch!"

Realizing it was Odie, Sophie released him immediately.

"What are you doing?" she demanded, frowning.

"Sophie, are you part dog or something? Biting before you even know who it is!"

"Sorry, Mr. Odie, I've developed a bit of a reflex from being kidnapped too often. I'll be gentler next time."

"You..."

"I've found a lead on the person behind this, and I'm going to win this bet."

Sophie immediately became serious. "You found a lead? How?"

"This city is my playground. Finding traces of him wasn't hard. Since he's stretched his hand this far, it's time I taught him a lesson."

The more Sophie heard, the more uneasy she felt. "Odie, listen to me. Don't act rashly. The person behind this isn't as simple as you think. Don't end up getting yourself in trouble."
